My path as a musician did not follow the conventional trajectory expected today. I do not come from a musical family, nor do I hold a prestigious degree in jazz or composition. Although I studied jazz, piano, contemporary piano music, and free improvisation at renowned conservatories in Hamburg (Germany), Vienna (Austria), and Leipzig (Germany), I ultimately discontinued those studies. Instead, I pursued an academic career in psychology; today I am a professor of psychology at the University of Mannheim. As fas as my piano music is concerned, I regard myself as a dropout from music conservatory and as an autodidact as a composer and improviser.

Bruno Elisabetsky

Born: October 3, 1984

Born in São Paulo (Brazil) and based in New Orleans (USA), the composer, guitarist (6 and 7 string guitar) and singer explores the dialogues between the Brazilian musical tradition in conjunction with jazz and classical music, as recorded in his three works as a composer and performer released so far: Quarteto Quadrantes: Passos Largos (2013) and Sinuosa (2016) with Quarteto Quadrantes. These first two works feature participation from renowned figures in Brazilian music such as Joyce Moreno, Naylor Proveta, Toninho Ferraguti, Teco Cardoso, among others.: “traditional tales of music dominate this recording, but these musicians live for the love and danger of modern art. The passions of the underbelly of Brasilian culture inflame their work. Bruno Elisabetsky, the quartet’s composer fashions these narratives from silken melodies about the pleasures and realities of urban life. But the dusty shuffle of traditional (rural) rhythms is never far away. The gripping forms of the idiomatic tradition of Brazil run parallel to the contemporary, abstract impressionistic art” . Gentiane MG

Born: February 26, 1992

Pianist and composer Gentiane MG has established herself as an important voice as a Canadian jazz composer. She made a powerful impression on Montreal’s jazz scene with her two albums for piano trio, Eternal Cycle (2017) and Wonderland (2019). MG is releasing her third album with this ensemble, Walls Made of Glass, on September 23, 2022. MG’s trio has received several awards, including the OPUS Award for Discovery of the Year (2020), the CBC/Radio-Canada Jazz Award (2018) and the François-Marcaurelle de la GMMQ Award (2017). Eternal Cycle was highlighted by CBC Music as one of 10 outstanding Canadian jazz albums of 2017. MG has played in Canada, Mexico, China, Ivory Coast, and Germany  alongside musicians such as Christine Jensen, Andre White, Yannick Rieu, Jim Doxas, , Jean-Michel Pilc and Ira Coleman, and released a duo album entitled Convergence with saxophonist Frank Lozano.

Jon O'Bergh

Born: May 30, 1956

Known as the "Jedi of Cool," keyboardist Jon O'Bergh refuses to be pigeonholed in one genre of music. He is adept in a variety of styles including rock, jazz, funk, electronica, lounge - the list goes on. Jon has released over one dozen albums, including two Christmas albums and his latest piano album, "Autumn Harvest." Jon's first release Millennial Landscapes reached #2 on the NAV Chart, and his follow-up release Carta reached #1. He performed for several years with the band Gemini Soul. Their fourth album, "The Nefertiti Xperience," reached #37 on the Amazon "Bestselling Hot New & Future Music Releases" chart, and their fifth album "Dark Skin Babies The Movement" reached #15.
