Jamie Murrell

Born:

I am a guitarist and guitar teacher in the Dayton, Ohio area. I play Pop, Rock, Jazz, and other styles of American music. I grew up in Mt.Orab, Ohio about 40 miles outside of Cincinnati. Most of the music that I was exposed to was classic rock, country, gospel, and bluegrass. I started playing guitar when I was 10 years old in 1979. I had a teacher named Lloyd Hazelbaker when I was 13 and he was a western swing steel guitarist. He told me that I was going to be a jazz guitarist but I had no idea what jazz was. He went on to teach me a lot of old standards like "the Autumn Leaves"

Max Hatt

Max Hatt / Edda Glass have "an incomparable spook” (Nashville Scene) and a "unique sound" (Larry Groce, NPR Mountain Stage), comprised of Glass's unmistakable voice, Hatt's epic guitar landscapes, and their award-winning Jazz Americana compositions. Praised for her "impeccable vocal command" (PopMatters) and compared to a gamut of singers from Astrud Gilberto to Billie Holliday, Glass's voice is ultimately "one of a kind...you cannot confuse her with another artist" (New York Theatre Guide). Hatt's equally distinctive guitar work combines the harmonic innovations of jazz with the melodic resonance of folk, creating music that's "subtly poignant, elegantly funky, and haunting without trying to be" (Nels Cline, Wilco)

Gideon King

Gideon King is a New York City composer, guitar player, and producer known for his work with some of the world’s finest musicians. His projects move through a wide array of musical genres, including jazz, fusion, funk, and pop. I grew up in the midst of a peaceful music war. I often went to sleep at night with my head against a wall vibrating with the sound of modern jazz improvisation. My brother, a well-known jazz pianist, had his piano on the other side of this wall and I rarely missed a note as he cleverly referenced Mccoy Tyner, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, and many others. My sisters, on the other hand, were in hippy mode, celebrating the lyrics and melodies of Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and others that put the acoustic guitar first in their music
