When he first appeared on the Haitian musical scene at the beginning of the nineties, Beethova Obas was immediately considered as one of the most talented and inspired singer-songwriters of his generation. With his painful lyrics and sensuous melodies, Beethova Obas has forged an incisive blues which appeals to audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. Beethova Obas was born in 1964, interested in all Haitian musical genres, but also in jazz, Beethova Obas first made his name as a songwriter. Although he listened to compas, a sort of slow, typically Haitian meringue, he was also close to "rasins" (roots), the anti-government trend founded by Manno Charlemagne

Noel Borthwick
Born in Bombay, on the west coast of India, Noel Borthwick began playing the guitar around the age of ten. He grew up listening to the music of many 70's progressive rock and jazz fusion groups. His interest in pioneering fusion groups such as Mahavishnu and Return To Forever, led him to spend a year with acclaimed Indian sarod player Shekhar Borkar, exploring the eastern principles of improvisation, rhythmic and melodic form in Indian classical music. In his late teens, he was drawn to the styles of jazz guitarists such as Pat Martino and Joe Pass as well as the music of John Coltrane, and immersed himself in the study of bebop, modal and mainstream jazz styles

Andres Thor

One of Icelands leading jazzguitarists of his generation Andres Thor began his musical studies at age 12 in his hometown Hafnarfjordur, a little harbour town nearby Reykjavík, Iceland. At first his influences where glitter rock and Hippie rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix and Bon Jovi. In his teens Andres first heard the music of John Coltrane and Pat Metheny wich led him to slowly getting more and more fascinated with jazz music. Soon Andres started studying with some of Icelands finest jazz educators at the FIH music school. After graduating his musical quest brought him to study at the Koninklijk Conservatorium (The Royal Conservatory) in The Hague, The Netherlands from the year 2000

Tony has performed in all types of musical situations. He started his professional career at age 16 playing in clubs and showcases with everything from Top 40 and R&B bands to award-winning jazz big bands and combos - among others. Tony has performed with many bands and artists including funk drum legend Mike Clark (Herbie Hancock’s Head Hunters). Tony has studied improvisation with Randy Vincent (SSU faculty /Bebop andBeyond),Bruce Foreman (Bay Area guitarist), Tuck Andress (Tuck and Patti), and jazz great Joe Pass. Tony is currently working as a freelance musician in the Sacramento and San Francisco Bay areas.
