Zakk Jones is a Columbus based guitarist, composer/arranger, and educator with a B.M. in Jazz Studies from Capital University. Raised in Portland, OR, he started playing piano at the age of 6, eventually receiving regional and national awards for composition with the PTA and “Fear No Music” project. After picking up the guitar in middle school, Zakk focused on playing in bands and preparing for music school, eventually attending Capital University with a large scholarship. In his 7+ years on the Columbus scene he has had the opportunity to play at major venues and festivals both locally and all over the country

Tomi Pekkola is an avant-garde-guitarist-composer from Hamina Finland. Along the years he has played in various types of groups with progressive or avant-garde ethos. Pekkola is a guitarist with a respect to the classics but his work is best described as a combination of contemporary classical & free improvisation with an attitude towards both meditative & explosive expression. Pekkola's main area in composition is at the time with his The Bull In a China Shop Quartet, a group on Bruce's Fingers label, but his work as a composer includes pieces for orchestra, chamber opera, chamber music vocal music & musics for different genres.

Minnesota music business entrepreneur, Arlo Hennings has more than 5,001 gigs notched on his guitar, which has taken him across the country and as far afield as South Africa and Bali. Before conceiving the idea of the Minnesota Music Awards, Hennings cut his teeth in the music field during his teenage years. His first lessons in the industry came from Al Jarreau’s manager, Patrick Raines where he worked as an assistant to his venue operation. Hennings also worked for 18 years as the artist manager for A&M recording artist Shawn Phillips. Under Hennings' management, Phillips earned multiple Gold and Platinum record awards. Combining his skills as a studio engineer, producer, and artist manager, Hennings succeeded in signing his roster of songwriters to one of the largest co-publisher/producer agreements in Minnesota

Kristinn Smári Kristinsson (b.1990) is an Icelandic guitarist, composer and improviser, currently living and working in Berlin. He is a co-founder of HOUT records and a member of the bands Monoglot and Minua. He has performed in various projects in Iceland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic and China. Jon Ostrom

Portland’s Jon Ostrom is a talented and accomplished guitarist and songwriter playing jazz, funk, rock and bluegrass in various groups throughout his career. The imagery created by his guitar playing combined with his songwriting showcase his ability to create landscapes for deep grooves and improvisation. Jon started his music career in Walleye, a power trio focused on songwriting without any barriers or limits.
