Jesper Nordal

Born: August 9, 1967

Im a danish guitarist, composer and musicteacher. Educated at Copenhagen Rhythmic Music Conservatory and Copenhagen University. I have released several albums with my own band ”Nordal Twang” and with Hoegsbro/Nordal 4. As a sideman, I have played, toured and recorded with a lot of danish and international artist, and I have composed and arranged music for theaters, musicals, commercials and TV/radio. My main musical style and inspiration is where rock meets jazz: big sounding guitar, energetic playing combined with free improvisation and intuitive band interplay. As a guitarist I am influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Bill Frisell, John Scofield, Daniel Lanois and Ry Cooder.

Fabrizio "Bozzi" Fenu

Born: October 15, 1977

Fabrizio Bozzi Fenu is a guitarist, composer, improvviser, sefl noise maker. He is born in Sardinia (Italy) and lives in Marseille (France).He focuses his research on the possibilities of his instrument searching new balances among extremes languages, electronic landscapes, drones and free improvisation. In the last years he has collaborated in contemporary dance, painting, theater. He has produced recordings with labels and research networks of improvised music. His latest works mainly about the perception of circular sounds, harmonics and dynamics variations , the rhythmic possibilities through the preparation of the guitar.

José António Soares Brito

Born: July 8, 1965

Ze Soares was born in Castro Verde – Portugal - in 1965. In 1984, he started his musical studies at the Beja Music Academy and completed the classical guitar course and musical studies at the Lisbon Music Academy. He graduated in Jazz at Universidade de Évora, and attends now a MA in Interpretation. He also studied jazz guitar with Eddie Goltz and Mário Delgado at the Hot Club of Portugal Jazz School. He participated in workshops with Ron Jackson and Billy Kilson. Besides his own project, Politonia which recorded his first CD – “Lisbon “ - in 1999, he has been working with various famous Portuguese artists and groups such as Delfins, Ernesto Leite, Janita Salomé, Dulce Pontes, António Palma, Chris Alexander, Matt Lester, Melissa Walker, Carlos Carli, Jaime Muela, António Ferro, Maria Viana, Maria Anadon, Dave Gaudsen, among others. Currently his music is closer to the overall concept

Michael Burris

Born: November 19, 1971

Mike Burris is a jazz and experimental guitarist from Burlington, VT and Charlottesville, VA. Mike plays straight ahead and out of his head depending on the circumastances. Equally at home playing an archtop clean through a tube amp as he is creating vast soundscapes reminiscent of Frisell and Lanois using an array of effects and a computer.

I'm playing in two bands here in Cluj Napoca, Sounds in the Attic(S.I.T.A.) progressive- grunge and Funk'e Fetish(jazz/funk). I am working at the Art's School here in Cluj where I am introduced to many different genres of music. I am still learning and I hope I am on the good way to become a better guitarist. My main influences are: Mark Knopfler, Jerry Canthrell, Andy Summers, Tosin Abasi and many others to some jazz guitarist like Pat Martino or Joe Pass.

Abdul Moimême

Abdul Moimême is a Lisbon based musician and active member of the cities free improvisation scene. His main instrument is the electric guitar.

Moimême has also worked as a jazz writer, since 1999, writing in various Portuguese publications such as Flirt, All Jazz and Jazz.pt magazines, as well as the Público newspaper.

Moimême has performed in several projects such as: Hipnótica, IKB, Insub Meta Orchestra, Potlatch, Queixas, Suspensão, and Variable Geometry Orchestra and performed and/or recorded with musicians such as: Axel Dörner, Carlos Zingaro, Christian Weber, Christophe Berthet, Cyril Bondi, D’Incise, Ernesto Rodrigues, Floros Floridis, Gale Brand, George Haslam, Heddy Boubaker, Jon Raskin, Manuel Mota, Marco von Orelli, Marco Scarassatti, Patrick Brennan, Rodrigo Amado, Thanos Chrysakis and Wade Matthews.

He has performed in Austria, Brazil, France, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland.

Riley Stockwell

Riley Stockwell is a performer and educator from Massachusetts. He has worked as a teacher for national guitar workshop for over three years. He has taught guitar, bass, ensemble, songwriting, and world percussion to different age groups in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Riley has assisted in many West African Drum and Dance clinics in the New England, and Washington D.C. areas as well. Riley is very good at adapting to a student's specific needs in order to ensure improvement while having fun learning the music you love. Riley has been performing extensively in the New England area for the last few years
