Yiannis Papanastasiou is an alto & soprano saxophonist, an educator and a composer who lives in Athens. He studied jazz saxophone at the Athenaeum Conservatory and has been an active member of the Greek jazz scene since 1997, performing & recording with the Yiannis Papanastasiou Quartet & Trio, Buzz Sextet, Jazz Upstairs Orchestra, Paraskevas Kitsos Sextet, Pocket Band Quintet, Apostolo Kalt Orchestra, Buzz Bastardz, Lito Voyiatzoglou Quartet, Oh! My Garden, Apurimac, many other bands, world renowned musicians and has appeared in several albums.
Yiannis is an astute musician, a fine composer, a versatile saxophonist who has played in various contexts and is at home with bebop, hard bop, cool and modal jazz. His sound is distinctive with an intense level of heartfelt expression and soulfulness. He is an adventurous improviser with a great sense of humor which is portrayed in his playing.

Thanos Stavridis

Thanos Stavridis was born in Langadas,
Thessaloniki. He took his first steps in learning
accordion at the age of six. He studied music
theory and holds degrees in Harmony,
Counterpoint and Fugue. He also attended
saxophone courses and reached the diploma
level. He graduated from School of Music
Studies of the Aristotle University of
Thessaloniki with a degree in
Ethnomusicology. His Graduate Thesis is
entitled “Accordion and its technique as used
by music troupes of Eastern Rumelia refugees
in Greece”.
In his early undergraduate years he began
playing accordion professionally at many
music stages and haunts of Thessaloniki,
performing rebetiko and various other genres
of Greek music

Nikos Koulouris

Nikos Koulouris, mostly known for his passionate Saxophone performances, is a Saxophonist - Professor of Saxophone, Music Producer and Composer based in Athens, Greece. As an educator, he has been a distinguished professor of Saxophone at the “National Conservatory” of Greece since 2005 and at “Phillipos Nakas Conservatory” since 2018.
He has been teaching both Classical and Modern-Jazz Saxophone. As a music soloist he has performed in Theatrical Performances, as well as in clubs, live stages, auditoriums. He has performed in concerts with the “Big Band” and the “Symphonic Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens”. He has also performed with the all-time Classic Pop singer of Olympians, PASXALIS Arvanitidis, and the famous American Pop, Soul singer-performer, Julie Mascino. In October 2013 he founded "The Groove Attack Big Band". Together, they released two singles with FmRecords, “polles fores” and “since you want it” (afou to thes), both covers of Manolis Xiotis’ songs.
