Black Tie Brass is a horn driven jazz funk band. Most of the band has been playing together in one way or another since 2008 and formed BTB is 2013. We released our first self-titled album after a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2014. We combine some of our favorite funk tunes with arranging pop songs in our own way along side our own originals. We want to keep you dancing and singing a song when you walk out. Our second album was released on January 19th, 2019. “Mostly Covered” has been a long time coming and you won’t be disappointed with our growth as musicians and as a band! better than TV had its formal debut in 2011. Our line up changed during the years as former students left Cambridge, and it is fluid and rather unconventional. We published two albums, 'Late’ in 2015 and ‘Song from No Man’s Land’ in 2018, both receiving positive reviews and radio time. We play regularly in Cambridge and London.

Frank Macchia

Born: October 12, 1958

Born and raised in San Francisco, CA., Frank started on the clarinet at the age of ten years old. Soon afterward he began studies on bassoon, saxophone and flute. By the age of fourteen he began studying composition, writing jazz and classical pieces for his high school band and orchestra and for jazz ensembles that rehearsed at the local union hall, including trumpeter Mike Vax's Big Band. In 1975-76 Frank wrote jazz/classical hybrid works that were performed by the San Francisco Symphony and local professional jazz musicians at the Summer Music Workshop Programs, and he composed and conducted an orchestral overture for his high school graduation ceremony

Albino Rhino

Originally formed as a garage rock & blues duo, Albino Rhino has been evolving since their inception. After cutting their teeth and sharpening their horns in DC and Northern Virginia, Rhino has become known for their raw power, energy, and unforgettable funk. The band plays funk-infused rock and blues, with elements of jazz and a tendency for extended improvisational jams that take their live audiences on an ever-evolving emotional rollercoaster. Like Albino Rhino's individual members and their multifaceted city of Washington, DC, their music includes both unique properties and mass appeal. Drawing from their diverse experiences, they have written songs about beach life, social justice, funk, and of course, rhinos, so you're sure to find something for YOU within this band's eclectic portfolio

Mike Shapiro

Born: June 4, 1968

Drummer/percussionist/producer Michael Shapiro has a very diverse career in the music buisness. He acts as producer for his wife, vocalist Kevyn Lettau. He maintains a very active touring schedule with many artists in a variety of genres and he spends time in the studios of L.A. lending his sound to many recordings. Some of the artists Michael has recorded and toured with include: Debby Boone, Brian Bromberg, Bobby Caldwell, Nell Carter, Dori Caymmi, Eliane Elias, Pete Escovedo, Frank Gambale, Jimmy Haslip, Al Jarreau, L.A. All Stars, Kevyn Lettau, Armando Manzanero, Maureen McGovern, Sergio Mendes, Airto Moreira, John Patitucci, Flora Purim, Lee Ritenour, Michael Ruff, Brenda Russell, Bud Shank, Andy Summers, Toots Thielemans, Randy Travis, Sadao Watanabe and many others. Michael currently teaches Ensemble Workshops, Latin Drumming, Funk Drums, Groove Class, and Music Listening. He has played venues from C.B.G.B.'S to Carnegie Hall in the U.S

JAKSPIN

Born: December 10, 1982

JAKSPIN is a Greek/Lebanese producer, singer and DJ born and raised in Cologne, Germany, where he started writing rhymes at the age of 12, deejaying at age 14. He embarked on his musical career as a DJ in Cologne's legendary underground soul music club called Kauri Keller. His first official release was a party break 12“ vinyl winning the Club Bangaz Worldwide competition. After remixing R&B songs for the label Da Source Records he finally metamorphosed into the artist JAKSPIN with a new sound ranging from lofi hip hop beats to vintage 70s Jazz and R&B grooves. He began to gain recogintion with the release of his first beat tape „Beats From the Attic“

Born: April 17, 1969

I am a Melbourne based Dj and Music Collector and have been active on the Melbourne Dj scene since 1999. My live Dj sets are generally an eclectic blend of Funk, Soul, Jazz, Hip Hop, Reggae, Afrobeat and Latin, while my Dj mixes tend to be more genre specific. Andy Lutkoff

Born: May 6, 1951

Andy Lutkoff has been performing in SW Florida for over 25 years. He has performed with many of SW Florida’s top musicians including Joe Delaney, Jay Heavilin, Kevin Mauldin, Trimble McCullough, Doug Kirschner, Mickey Basil, Dave Morgan, Michael Baer, Tim Goodman, Brad Brown, and David Sarchet. In addition to leading various trios and quartets with the musicians above, Andy has lead the groups Straight Ahead and Saxdance. Both groups have been featured at Lee County Alliance of the Arts as well as at many venues in SW Florida. Andy is originally from NYC, but grew up in Richmond, Virginia
