Maarten Regtien

Born: March 6, 1963

Maarten Regtien (1963) is a Dutch (jazz-)pianist and (contemporary classic) composer. He started playing piano at the age of seven.

In 1975 he was introduced to the the Canadian jazz saxophonist and composer Alan Laurillard who introduced M. Regtien to improvisation.

During adolescence his musical taste started to grow towards 'anything new and unheard-of before.' This period included creating prepared piano's and tape experiments many years before he heard the music of John Cage or Brian Eno for the first time. Favorite music in the schoolgooing years was the early psychedelic music of Pink Floyd, The Beatles' White Album, free jazz, cool jazz, bebop, early Philip Glass minimal music and above all master pianists Keith Jarret and Jasper Van't Hoff.

Vic Dillahay

Born: November 4, 1979

With his wide-open tone and witty compositions, Colorado-based guitarist Vic Dillahay blends a myriad of styles into an unmistakably unique voice. For over 20 years, he has refined this distinctive sound with numerous jazz ensembles, Liam O’Beirne’s progressive Celtic band Indigent Row, and as part of the fusion trio Graphite Addiction with Pete Ehrmann (Generations) and Tim Carmichael (3ology). His discography is equally eclectic, having appeared on over 25 albums ranging from swing jazz to electronic noise. Vic's recent solo work explores the rich history of American music with free-roving jazz, blues, and rock-tinged improvisations.

Max Gerl

Born: February 22, 1995

Max Gerl is an acoustic and electric bassist hailing from Dallas, Texas. Gerl picked up the electric bass at 11 and the acoustic bass at 15. He quickly became an integral part of the Dallas music scene before moving to Boston, MA, where he graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music ('17). As a member of the Dallas, Boston, New York, and Los Angeles musical communities, Gerl has performed or recorded with Tia Fuller, Jordan Rakei, Makaya McCraven, Stanley Clarke, Bob Mintzer, Mike Moreno, Shaun Martin, Bernard Wright, Sean Jones, Marshall Gilkes, Chris Cheek, James Francies, Beka Gochiashvili, Cameron Graves, and Mike Mitchell at historic venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, the North Sea Jazz Festival, and the Monterey Jazz Festival

Tom Weeks is a composer, improviser, and saxophonist from Oakland, CA. He has received a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA, and a Master's degree in Composition from Mills College, Oakland, CA. He has studied with Roscoe Mitchell, Fred Frith, Zeena Parkins, Pauline Oliveros, Steve Adams, Richard Evans, and Phil Wilson, among others. His music is influenced by various African-American musical traditions, the historical avant-garde, and the heavy metal and hardcore traditions; utilizing improvisation, extended techniques, and traditional and experimental notational practices

Virginia Schenck, known by the stage name VA, is an accomplished international vocal artist and jazz performer, utilizing both straight-ahead, spoken word, and free improvisation. VA is an imaginative vocalist with a broad stylistic reach. She can soothe her audience with a beautiful ballad, invigorate them with a re-imagined standard and challenge them with a powerful blast of free improvisation. Yet all of these aspects exist within one singular and unique voice. Ognjen Savija

Born: March 19, 1971

Ognjen Šavija: Member of Cultural Association Ambrosia. Guitar player, musician, composer, producer, sound designer, art performance artist, multimedia artist & DJ – the explorer of Infinity and its possibilities. Born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina 1971. He has taken classical guitar lessons from Mile Praljak. Simultaneously, he has worked with electronics and audio engineering, and has studied several other music instruments. 1986, together with his brother Nebojša Šavija-Valha, he started experimenting with music and sound within contemporary music, new age, experimental, avant-grade jazz and ambient (See Ognjen Šavija and Nebojša Šavija-Valha duo). At the same time he has played with several alternative rock bands. 1991-1996 he was a leader of a goth rock band the Invisible Fields. During 1993, together with his brother, he developed an audio-visual project “Twilight Whisper” that was performed at the beginning of 1994 involving several more people

Shay Hazan

Bassist and composer Shay Hazan, based in Tel-Aviv, presents his latest group release with new reflections and directions. The band, two-horns strong and backed by the classic piano, bass and drums unit, continues to strike ripples in their near and farther surroundings. Angela on the Arts is a trio convened by jazz trumpeter/composer John D’earth who has performed internationally, and appeared on over 100 recordings with Dave Matthews, Bruce Hornsby, John Abercrombie, Emily Remler, Kait Dunton, Pat Metheny, Lionel Hampton, Tito Puente, and Buddy Rich, among many others. D'earth has recorded as a leader for Vanguard Records, ENJA Records, DoubleTime Jazz and his own Cosmology label.

Richard Andersson

Born: October 4, 1982

Richard Andersson (b. Oct. 1982) is a Danish/Faroese/Icelandic bass player and composer based in Copenhagen where he is known as “one of the most interesting characters of the Danish jazz scene” (Ivan Rod/Gaffa Music Magazine.). Andersson grew up in a musical family but never showed much interest in music until the age of 14 when his life was turned upside down after a fireworks accident that cost him his sight. Now, around 20 years later, Richard Andersson has gained great recognition for his work as a composer and bass player in the modern jazz field. He has released several albums as a bandleader with Danish and international musicians such as Oskar Gudjonsson (IS), Rudi Mahall (DE), Kasper Tranberg (DK), Jerry Bergonzi (US), Ra-Kalam Bob Moses (US), Tony Malaby (US) and Bill McHenry (US).
