Born: September 17, 1969

PAOLO RUSSO - pianist, bandoneonist and composer Welcome to Paolo Russo’s unique music universe: a journey across Italian flavours, classical tones, Nordic landscapes, free improvisations, with a distant echo of Argentinean tango. Born in Pescara (Italy) in 1969, he lives in Copenhagen (Denmark) since 1996. He started his studies with the cembalist Chiara Tiboni and graduated at “Conservatorio L. D’Annunzio” in Pescara, in 1993 (teacher: Rachele Marchegiani). In 2002, he graduated at the prestigious Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium in Copenhagen. During the past 21 years, he developed a very intense music activity, with performances all around Europe, as well as Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Japan, Faroe Islands, Thailand, Tanzania, Mozambique, Algeria, Russia, USA, Greenland and Cuba

better than TV had its formal debut in 2011. Our line up changed during the years as former students left Cambridge, and it is fluid and rather unconventional. We published two albums, 'Late’ in 2015 and ‘Song from No Man’s Land’ in 2018, both receiving positive reviews and radio time. We play regularly in Cambridge and London.

Q Morrow

Born: June 8, 1983

Well schooled in many styles of music and guitar technique, Q is a rare breed of guitarist who feels at home in any style of music, on any guitar. Having studied extensively jazz, funk, pop, rock, and classical guitar here in the far West, Carnatic (South Indian Classical) and Hindustani music in the far East, Brazilian and Cuban music on the side, it would be no stretch to say that his versatility is his strongest point. What sets him apart from other world musicians is the fact that his interest in music is spiritual, not technical. To Q, music is an offering. Balagan Cafe Band

An eclectic new project, this group combines the worlds of jazz, world music and classical, featuring the intimate chamber instrumentation of violin, guitar, cello and accordion and an elegant yet fiery fusion of improvisation and written music. Ranging from Parisian and American Jazz, the Chaabi music of Algeria, Tango from Argentina, Balkan folk melodies through to the early modern and folk music of Western Europe, Balagan fuses these threads into a coherent and characteristic sound world. ‘…this is music for the ears, heart and feet.’ The past couple of years have seen the band perform at venues including the Elgar Room, Omnibus and National Portrait Gallery to enthusiastic public responses
