Stefan Gonzalez

Drummer Stefan Gonzalez was born in Dallas, Texas. Raised in a musical household, he took early inspiration to start drumming from the elders who rehearsed and recorded with his father, Dennis Gonzalez Ð the masters Alvin Fielder, W.A. Richardson, Andrew Cyrille, and Louis Moholo. By the age of 11 he had put together his first heavy grunge bands (Facelift and Oblivion) and he started focusing on his main project, Akkolyte. Akkolyte, which started as a solo project in which Stefan overdubbed drums, guitar, bass, and vocals, added Aaron on electric bass, and it became a duo. By 2004 Akkolyte had already done a myriad of successful mini tours and an all encompassing 28 day tour of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. He also began playing in the family New Jazz/Improv trio Yells At Eels.

Frederic Vaudaux

Frédéric begins playing music in 1980 and studies the drum kit in the Contemporary Musical Center of Nice where he obtains two first prizes. After various experiments in regional bands he dashes into the composition, investigates and looks for the musical energy in various projects: associating performances dance and improvised music, work with video directors, sound poetry, sound painting, musics of illustration... Today, his technique and the richness of his playing allow him a contrasted, surprising freedom of expression, going from the most minimal to the most talkative. His inspiration takes its source in the instant, it can be light, airfull, creating more tribal, violent but also subtle atmospheres, letting appear from a sound continuum some fragmented barbaric rhythms...

Raymond Strid

Born:

Born Stockholm, 1956; drums, percussion. Raymond Strid started to play the drums relatively late. As he had become addicted to listening to music, sometimes spending eight ours a day in front of the stereo, he was encouraged to start playing himself (and to this day, he is still a dedicated listener and audiophile). With no musical background he thought the drums would be the easiest instrument to learn. He was particularly inspired by some of the European master drummers like Han Bennink, Paul Lytton and Tony Oxley. Strid's first concert was 30 September 1977 and he subsequently performed in a variety of local groups in Stockholm
