Erik Johnson is a drummer/composer/multi-instrumentalist from Philadelphia, PA. As a member of the vital Philly music scene, he works as a studio drummer for many emerging artists in many styles. He has performed on hundreds of recordings over the past 20 years and continues to enjoy performing in both live and studio settings as a drummer, vocalist, bassist, guitarist, keyboardist and arranger/producer. Erik is a member of The Fractals, a band based in Philadelphia. They have recently enjoyed airplay of their new single, “Miss Kensington,” and have developed a devoted following of fans who relish the fine songwriting and virtuosity that the band offers

Uka Gameiro

Uka gameiro is originally from Recife (Brazil), as a drummer and percussionist, he has worked with music for 20 years and has done a lot of projects, worked in bands and different artists in Recife, Canada (Ontario) and now NYC. In Canada he performed in concert bands, stage bands and soundtracks for theatre acts. Played at some experimental music with Siba ending up in a percussion gig with Silverio Pessoa and Siba. He has played instrumentals jazz gigs in the nineties. He has recorded more than 11 cds with different artists and bands, also recorded a DVD on December 2008. He has performed at the Rock In Rio Festival with his own band called Expresso 4 oito in 2001

M. Kyle Rowland

Kyle Rowland (B. Ann Arbor, MI 1984) is an active performer, composer, and educator who works across a diverse spectrum of musical situations. As a drummer and percussionist Kyle has performed with Vic Juris, Wessell Warmdaddy Anderson, Tony Monaco, Kate Baker, Radam Schwartz, James Weidman, and Quentin Angus. He has also composed music for live experimental theatre and television. In 2007 Kyle composed pieces for solo percussion which were adapted as the score for The Garage Theatre Groups production of Chay Yew's Porcelain. His television credits include pieces composed for DJTR Media and Prodcutions. In the Fall of 2011 he began writing for StoneStreet Screen Acting Studios, headed by Alyssa Rallo Bennett & Gary O. Bennett

Deric Dickens

Deric Dickens is a Brooklyn-based percussionist and composer. After growing up in Southern Georgia, Deric worked as a band director, taught drum and bugle corps, and played as a principal timpanist with local orchestras and symphonies. But it was the ride cymbal, a friend had asked him to play at a session, that changed everything. Since, Dickens has toured and recorded with Robinella (Columbia Records) and JaLaLa (Janis Siegel Manhattan Transfer). Deric has performed numerous times with Donald Brown, Jerry Coker, Kirk Knuffke, and Jeff Lederer at various clubs and festivals including Birdland, 55 Bar, Bonnaroo, Bristol Rhythm and Roots, Knoxville Jazz Festival, Litchfield Jazz Festival, and The Muroran Jazz Festival Japan

Chuck Ferrell, often referred to as, “the quiet drummer,” began his professional career at the age of 14. He has performed with jazz, Motown, rock and country artists all over the world. Hailing from Danville, Virginia, he attended Virginia Commonwealth University, where he studied private drum instruction with drummer Clarence Penn and jazz ensemble under the tutelage of jazz legend, Ellis Marsalis. Chuck Ferrell’s sound is reminiscent of Art Blakey’s drive, Max Roach’s melodic sensibilities, Jack DeJohnette’s implied time feel, Tony Williams’s metric modulations and Elvin Jones’s rolling triplets

Teun (April ’75) first picked up the drums by the age of eight. After two summer courses with drummer Dre Pallemaerts he went to the Conservatory of Brussels where he was taught by Hans Van Oosterhout. Since graduating from this school in 1999, he became one of the most in demand sideman in lots of different bands and musical styles in no time. His search for a personal touch and wanting to explore all possibilities of playing music and drums, his lack of boundaries and styles and trying to find fresh sounds and freedom in collective improvisation made him work (as sideman)with: Alexi Tuomarila 4tet and Trio (signed WARNER MUSIC) Jef Neve Trio (signed: UNIVERSAL) FES (IPECAC ; CRAMMED) Fes did the first part of Mike Patton’s Fantomâs during 10 Europe dates. VVG trio Karanova (featuring Hilmar Jensson, Johann Johannssonn from Iceland and Mauro Pawlowski from Belgium), Molo Trio, Jambangle, Rackham, Pascal Schumacher 4tet, “4”, JojoBa, Streams, Silent Song, Jozef Dumoulin Trio,... Montalban Quintet

Who we are… The Montalban Quintet is a collective of musicians that have infused interests from various musical barrios including post- punk, minimalism, jazz, “new music”, 50′s schmaltz and field recordings. We reside in San Diego and have birthed all of the recordings/collaborations at a small recording facility in Encinitas, known lovingly as the Belly of the Whale. The present line up of collaborators: Chris Prescott (drums and electronics), Carl Prescott (brass), Kenseth Thibideau (bass), Jim Weiss (saxophones), Jon Harford (guitar), Marjorie Prescott (cello), Nathan Hubbard (vibraphone), Hermelindo Montalban (percussion) Our past and/or present musical endeavors include: Pinback, Sleeping People, The Jade Shader, The Mattson 2, Smokestaxx, No Knife, Big Time Operator, Systems Officer and more.
