Itay Morchi

Born: December 23, 1992

Originally from Israel, Itay started playing the drums at the age of six Itay and was honored to study under the direction of the the finest musician and teachers in Israel. Since November 2016 Itay has been the working drummer in piano legend's Johnny O'neal trio. Since then, he performed with him in prestigious venues and festivals around the world, to name a few: Detroit Jazz Festival, Nice Jazz Festival, Red Sea Jazz Festival, Rostov International Jazz festival, Blue Note Milano, Dizzy's Club Coca Cola, ESSE Jazz Club moscow, as well as weekly residencies in NYC own Smalls Jazz club, Mezzrow Jazz Club, Smoke Jazz Club, Ginny's Supper Club and more. In October of 2017, Itay was honored to be on Johnny O'neal's new record - "In The Moment" Featuring - ROY HARGROVE and GRANT STEWART

Dave Rokeach

A long time Bay Area resident, drummer David Rokeach has been working primarily in the San Francisco and Los Angeles areas for more than 20 years. David toured nationally and internationally with Ray Charles from 1990-91. This included concert videos and many television appearances, including an appearance on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and the Doc Severinson Orchestra. Mimmo Cafiero

Born: November 13, 1960

Mimmo Cafiero ha influenzato il jazz in Sicilia per quasi mezzo secolo.
Nato a Palermo, ha studiato pianoforte e ha cantato nel coro del
Conservatorio Vincenzo Bellini dall'età di 11 anni.
Imparando a suonare le percussioni tre anni dopo, ha iniziato a frequentare diverse jam session, spesso frequentate da musicisti di jazz stranieri tra cui Ian Carr e Oliver Lake. Membro del gruppo del vibrafonista Enzo Randisi dal 1978 al 1981, ha registrato con lui due album e ha fatto un tour in Spagna. Entrando nel 1983 a far parte della Brass Group Big Band, un’orchestra di 20 elementi, ha avuto l'opportunità di lavorare con direttori ospiti come Mel Lewis, Sam Rivers, Toshiko Akiyoshi e Archie Shepp. Ha fatto parte anche della Big Band diretta da Bruno Biriaco nel 1984 che si è esibita su RAI UNO per diversi mesi in occasione della trasmissione “Domenica in". Ha registrato per la Rai Fonit Cetra nel 1987 un disco contenente proprie composizioni. Nel 1988, dopo aver fatto parte per due anni della band del pianista Romano Mussolini in oltre 400 concerti effettuati in tutta Italia, Cafiero si trasferisce a Roma dove insegnerà percussioni presso la scuola di musica “Lab 2”. Durante i tre anni in cui è rimasto a Roma, ha registrato due album da solista, “I Go", poco dopo il suo arrivo, con Paolo Fresu ospite nella sua band, e "Moon and Twenty Five", con ospite del suo quintetto il chitarrista Kurt Rosenwinkel, nel 1990. Ritornato a Palermo nel 1991, Cafiero ha fondato la Open Jazz School, una scuola che ha annoverato tra i suoi allievi alcuni dei migliori jazzisti siciliani di oggi.
Cafiero ha costantemente lavorato per migliorare lo stato del jazz in Sicilia. Ha svolto il ruolo di Presidente del comitato regionale dell'Associazione Nazionale Musicisti Jazz, nel 1991, contribuendo a coordinare la pubblicazione del primo audio-catalogo del jazz siciliano con la produzione di tre CD, “Sicilian Jazz Collection vol. 1, 2 e 3”.
Nel 1995 ha registrato l’album “Live in Brussels” con il suo trio, nel 1996 ha girato l'Italia con il quartetto di Joey Calderazzo e ha diretto la sua Open Jazz Orchestra in vari tour. Tra il 1999 e il 2005 ha preso parte negli Stati Uniti a numerosi concerti insieme alla Duke University Jazz Orchestra con il tenor sassofonista Paul Jeffrey. Mimmo Cafiero ha collaborato spesso con Enrico Rava, Danilo Rea, Harvie S, Hal Crook e ha registrato una quarantina di dischi con alcuni dei più importanti musicisti della scena jazzistica internazionale esibendosi con loro in Europa e Nord America.
Ha anche collaborato con Mick Goodrick, Steve Grossman, Gianni Basso, Massimo Urbani, Tony Scott, Riccardo Zegna, Enrico Pieranunzi, Sheila Jordan, Bob Mintzer, Fabrizio Bosso, Lee Konitz e tanti altri.

Gene Markiewicz

Gene Markiewicz is one of Indianapolis most established drummers, having performed with many of the areas finest musicians and organizations. He has performed with Jim Edison, Al Cobine, The Buselli/ Wallarab Jazz Orchestra, Bill Lancton, Becky Archibald, Steve Robinette, The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and Trombononomous. He has co-led the award winning Carter/Markiewicz Jazz Quartet with the late jazz legend Chuck Carter. Currently. Gene currently co-leads the Farrelly/Markiewicz Jazz Quartet with saxophonist Jim Farrelly, and the D/M Jazz 8 with talented trombonist/arranger Rich Dole

Born: August 11, 1977

Ryan Anthony has a Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Music Performance from Arizona State University. He has worked as a freelance musician in both the Phoenix and Albuquerque area over the past thirteen years. Ryan has performed with Bert Dalton, Armand Boatman, Chris Calloway, Wayne Burgeron, Rick DellaRatta, Glenn White, Michael Kocour, and Jon Gagan. Ryan plays with the original jazz band Running From Bears. He is a faculty member at Paradise Valley Community College and also teaches at New School for the Arts and Academics in Tempe, AZ.

Mario Pereira

Mario Pereira es graduado del programa de Jazz y Música Caribeña del Conservatorio de Música. ha participado como baterista con varios artistas como Nydia Caro, Humberto Ramirez, Michel Brava. En miembro de SM Quinteto y del conjunto de Bomba Son del Batey. Es profesor en la escuela de Bellas Artes de Guaynabo.
