Simon Forchhammer

Simon Forchhammer is a Danish drummer and composer renowned for his dynamic contributions to the European jazz and experimental music scenes. Based in Copenhagen, he is an integral member of several innovative ensembles, including Alawari, the Mia Dyberg Trio, the Red Gazelle Trio, and the Hein Westgaard Trio.

With Alawari, Forchhammer contributed to the debut album *Leviathan* (2024), which garnered critical acclaim for its intricate arrangements and emotional depth. The ensemble's compelling synthesis of jazz, classical, and folk idioms earned them the Danish Music Award Jazz for 'Newcomer of the Year' in 2022

Groovosophers

The Groovosophers band was formed in Krakow in March 2023, continuing the tradition of the Goddard Quartet/Quintet band, founded in 1997 at the jazz workshops in Chodziez. Over the years, musicians have met in various lineups and musical genres, and in 2023 they decided to fulfil their dreams and combine their strengths, creating their own energetic material together.

In July 2023 and 2024, the band played at the Night of the Museum at the medieval castle Pieskowa Skała in Sułoszowa. In April 2024, Groovosophers was a part of the celebration of the opening of the Improwizacja Jazz Club in Krakow and as guest, Leszek Żądło on soprano saxophone joined the band on stage. In September 2024, the band played as a headliner on the 8th Hammond Kielce Festival. The band plays energetic concerts in jazz clubs around.

Craig Cootsona

Born:

Craig Cootsona began playing drums at age 11 and soon developed a love for the instrument. He received formal education in school concert bands and also learned drum set by playing along with his favorite recordings.

He considers himself fortunate to have woven a passion for music into funding for education, because this opened up many career opportunities and taught him how to read and transcribe charts. After high school Craig leveraged music scholarships to fund a bachelor's of science degree at University of Puget Sound.  Once he stepped into the Olympia music scene, he played every gig that came his way to fund a master's degree at University of Washington College of Forestry. He formed so many friendships that he continued to play music throughout his career as a scientist at Weyerhaeuser. Now Craig owns his own manufacturing business and it allows him even more time to enjoy music.

OJT builds on the classic organ jazz trio by mixing old school Kansas City jazz with blues and a modern funky groove.  Ken Lovern on Hammond organ, Kenny Watson Jr. on drums, and Brian Baggett on guitar play equal parts in balanced arrangements with outstanding improvisations. OJT has been a band for more than 20 years and it shows.  Kenny Watson Jr. has been with the group for just over two years, and he brings a fresh groove to the old school organ jazz jams.

Rupert Gillett Trio

In a completely unique instrumental combination for a jazz-based trio, internationally renowned jazz Cellist Rupert Gillett is joined by Valerie Rathmann on double bass & vocals and Tim Schmiedner on drums.  The Rupert Gillett Trio produces a sound which is at times intricate and earthy and at times swinging and funky.

Rupert Gillett is a British cellist, bassist, composer and producer. He is an internationally respected jazz cello player and a specialist in many alternative cello techniques. Over the years, he has performed with numerous ensembles in a variety of genres, both on cello and double bass. He has played concerts and festivals all over the world as well as locations such as Buckingham Palace, the Orient Express and at the Paralympic Games. He has also performed many times on BBC Radio and television and worked extensively as a studio musician.
