Ali Jackson

Award-winning musician, composer, arranger, educator, and percussionist Ali Jackson developed his talent at an early age. A virtuoso, Ali has contributed significant musical works as a composer and arranger and he holds the distinction of being the first percussionist to perform and create music across the entire spectrum of musical styles. He began playing drums at the age of two and piano by the age of five. As a child growing up in Detroit, Ali found himself immersed in serious study alongside his father, the great jazz bassist Ali Jackson Sr., who gave him an intense introduction to music, taking him on gigs where he began playing professionally at eight years old. John Anter

JAMBa began in 2010 as a collaboration of studio musicians, headed by John Anter and Marty Ballou. Their first album, “If You Need Me” featured the world’s most recorded drummer, Bernard Purdie. Bernard’s credentials are too numerous to list but we’ve mentioned a few below. For the OFF WHITE project, we recruited studio veterans Bruce Bartlett, Sonny Barbato, Dave Zinno, Joe Klimek and, once again, Bernard Purdie. Guillermo McGill Bio Drummer, percussionist, professor, composer and producer, has played with many outstanding artist from Jazz and Flamenco: Enrique Morente, Dave Liebman, Tete Montoliu, Juan Manuel Cañizares, John Abercrombie, Wynton Marsalis, Marc Johnson, George Mraz, Niño Josele, etc. Member of Chano Dominguez trio together with Javier Colina from it´s creation in 1991, he takes part on Fernando Trueba´s film Calle 54. He has published five recordings as a leader, plus more than 70 recordings as a sideman. Played at some of the most important theaters and auditoriums in the world such as Carnegie Hall, The Marinsky Theater, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Teatro Real, Auditorio Nacional, etc. Drum and ensemble teacher at the mos important jazz schools in Spain since 1984: Taller de Músics de Barcelona, Taller de Músicos de Madrid, Escuela de Música Creativa, Musikene.

Paul Gavin is a Drummer, Teacher, Composer & Arranger in Tampa, FL. Since graduating from the University of South Florida in 2015 Paul has made his living exclusively as a freelance musician. By playing all kinds of music all around the state of Florida, teaching privately and in schools, and writing for school programs and his own original music he maintains an active schedule. Paul has played regularly with great musicians in the Tampa bay area including trumpet player James Suggs, singer Gloria West, and bassist Michael Ross. His work can be heard on ECM Records, Sunnyside Records, Pi Recordings, Cryptogramophone, Fresh Sound, and Clean Feed. He co-leads, composes for, and play drums in THE CELLAR AND POINT, a "garage-chamber" septet formed in 2010
