Vin Scialla has traveled the world performing and teaching jazz & world music. Vin balances a career as drummer/percussionist, educator, and composer in New York. US Department of Defense entertainment tours have taken him to the Middle East, Caribbean, Asia and Egypt. Scialla is known for his innovative blend of Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, Indian and American musical traditions. He has recorded and produced albums for Scialla/Schugren/Charette (Liftoff Records/PrimeDirective), Snehasish Mozumder (Random Chance Records), and Mission: on Mars. Vin recently performed at Lincoln Center out-of-doors, the Jazz Gallery, and Blue Note New York. Vin received his B.M. at the Hartt School of Music, and Masters at the Conservatory at Brooklyn College. He has performed with Brian Charette, Valery Ponomorev, JD Allen, Eric Revis, Gil Coggins, Mike DiRubbo, and John La Barbera. His sponsors include Sennheiser/Neumann, Remo, Sabian Cymbals.
