A. Christopher Johnson

Born:

FREELANCE JAZZ & SOUL SESSION DRUMMER Contact me via Cell = (845) 901-4072, Set Lists to [email protected]

I grew up during the Golden Age of Hip-Hop, when my old man introduced some great Hard Bop cats that I loved, just like how I love "real" Hip-Hop, and Hip-Hop influened Soul.

After my Dad showed me how cool Jazz was, I took a few Bop Jazz drum lessons, and eventually began to combine my Hip-Hop breakbeats, with my Hard Bop swing. Bandleaders dig my sound.

I am interested in playing hard swinging Hard Bop, funky Post-Bop, and working with soulful vocalists, and talented spoken-word poets, with plenty original written material.
