Antonio Sanchez

Born in Mexico City, 5 time Grammy Award winner Antonio Sanchez began playing the drums at age five and performed professionally in his early teens in Mexico’s rock, jazz and latin scenes. He pursued a degree in classical piano at the National Conservatory in Mexico and in 1993 enrolled in Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in Jazz Studies. Since moving to New York City in 1999, Antonio has become one of the most sought-after drummers in the international jazz scene. Following 18 years and 9 albums as one of the most revered collaborators with guitarist/composer Pat Metheny, he also has recorded and performed with many other most prominent artists like Chick Corea, Gary Burton, Michael Brecker, Charlie Haden and Toots Thielmans. In 2014 Sanchez’s popularity soared when he scored Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) which ended up fetching 4 Academy awards (including best picture) and for which Antonio won a Grammy award

He is a stylish, and much recorded, Composer and Arranger, a great drummer and one of the UK’s foremost experts on the life and work of Duke Ellington (or “Ellingtonia” as it is often termed). “Thad Jones and the Ellington Effect” is a seven part suite of pieces based on the chapters of a Masters dissertation completed some years ago by Tony in which he attempted to show how Thad Jones had been influenced by Duke Ellington both in his writing and arranging, and in the way in which he used the jazz Orchestra he co-led with drummer Mel Lewis from 1966 to 1979

Ken Serio has been playing the drums since the age of 11, and has studied with the great Joe Morello, Kenwood Dennard, and Zak Danziger. He has a large recording and touring list, including Mark Egan, Vic Juris, Ronnie Earl, Bill Turner (guitarist for Bill Haley and the Comets), Crosscurrents, Calvin Hill, Danny Gottlieb, Pete McCann, Gil Goldstein, Leo Jordan, Dave Mann, Dave Mullen, Billy Eric, Victoria Warne, Stefanie Seskin, and groups including, Racing 8, Dem Brooklyn Bums, Asylum and Bed Of Nails. Ken also performs drum clinics for Hot Sticks drum sticks SJC Drums and Dream Cymbals which he proudly endorses, and various studio work including jingles for Kelloggs and Coca Cola. Ken also has four cds out under his own name

Steve Parry

LEO CIESA ( www.leociesa.com ) is a drummer, composer and educator based in New York City. He is best known for the New York City hardcore jazz duo ICONOCLAST (www.iconoclastnyc.com), which he co-founded with saxophonist Julie Joslyn in 1987, and also for being a longtime member of Nick Didkovsky's 8 piece avant-rock ensemble DOCTOR NERVE (www.doctornerve.org), which he joined 1988. Ciesa also has a solo project that became "COAT OF ARMS - MUSIC FOR SOLO DRUMSET", a 50 minute CD with 22 solo pieces.
