Jared Steer
Born:
Growing up in the hub of the world, Rochester, NH, I fell in love with the tubs at an early age. My music teacher, Ms. Z, introduced me to percussion in third grade and asked if I would join the school band. Immediately I was in the School bands as well as jazz combos and big band. High school hit, that's when sports became my main priotrity. Played lots still though. In college the guys I was playing with introduced me to some really hip music, Coltrane and Monk, and that's where it all began. I studied Jazz at Plymouth State College with Tim Gilmore (1998-2000) and Eric Hughes (1996-1998), then after college went on to study with Rakalam Bob Moses (2000-2002), Roberto Vizcaino Guillot (of Cubanismo) (Summer 1997 Berklee World Percussion Festival), Jeff Ballard (2007-2008), and for a while with my mentor Bob Gullotti (2002-Present)

Rodney Green
Some people seek out a career in music, and some just cannot escape it. As an only child growing up in Philadelphia, gospel music and musical instruments surrounded Rodney Green at home and in church, where he spent most of his time. His father was a preacher and organist, and his mother sang in church. Rodney was drawn to the drum kit, and by age three, would climb on the kit play whenever possible. By his early teens, Green was playing drums in church, but outside he was being exposed to other kinds of music like jazz. His older cousin, also a musician, introduced Rodney to jazz, funk, and soul music, and (along with his high school band teacher) started him listening records like, “A Love Supreme,” “Transition,” and “Four More”
