Dan DeChellis’s music consists of melody, emotion, energy and spontaneous adventure. Born on classic rock, schooled in classical music, matured on jazz, aged with ambient music, he is a fan of all music and styles. He has released over 8 CD’s of purely improvised music on his own label, Sachimay Records. Dan is also a member of the Hassay / DeChellis / Nakatani Trio with whom he has released two CD’s on the German Label, Konnex Records. He is a member of two rock bands, Grey Sky Turn and Four the Day and a professor of music at Moravian College where he directs the Improvised Music Ensemble (MIME). Dan’s music draws from his love of lush harmony and nostalgic melodies
