Jenny Hill

Jenny Hill is a versatile jazz saxophonist, flautist, composer, and arranger based in New York City. She leads the jazz sextet Liquid Horn, known for blending jazz with South American and Caribbean rhythms, and has released multiple albums, including "Floating," "Groove Garden," "The Chill Factor," "Planet Sax," and "Liquid Horn." She was a winner of the Chamber Music America Performance Plus grant in 2023, and also the ArtsWestchester Arts Alive grant.

Jonathan Kirschner is a jazz guitarist and composer based in the NYC area. Originally from Massachusetts, Jonathan moved to New Jersey to study with legendary jazz guitarist Vic Juris at Mason Gross School of the Arts. Since then, Jonathan has made a name for himself as both a player and composer on the New York City jazz scene. He is a creative and exciting guitarist with a unique voice who blends a love of traditional jazz guitar with his own modern flavor in his playing and compositions. Chris Greco

Award-winning composer and performer Chris Greco has followed a path in music of discovery and accumulation. He has composed and performed a broad and diverse range of jazz music, classical chamber, and concert hall music. He draws from the music traditions of the past and the present within the worlds of jazz, non-western music, twentieth century music, American popular music, and the classical music traditions.

As a composer and multi-instrumentalist Greco's development was shaped in Los Angeles. Guided by a broad approach he explored a variety of jazz styles, groups, and changing instrumental formats; duo, trio, quartet, quintet, sextet, and large ensembles. A significant contributor to the mainstream modern/post-modern, and mixed-genre jazz culture of Los Angeles in the '80s and '90s Greco released three recording projects on gwsfourwinds records that represent his broad view and the multi-style directions he explored with jazz-based music.

Chris Greco is a professor of music at Benedictine College. He composes in cycles, maintains an active cyclical performance itinerary, and continues to pursue his broad interests that are woven within a professional life of composing, performing, teaching, research, and recording in jazz, classical, and electronic music.

Keith Daniels

Keith Daniels Llantén is a Chilean-Guyanese composer, arranger, saxophonist and flutist based in Brooklyn, New York. He specializes in the fusion of Latin American folk with jazz, classical and rock music, writing for jazz big bands and combos, symphony orchestras, chamber music ensembles, singers and vocal groups. His music has been played and/or commissioned by musicians and ensembles such as the GRAMMY Award nominated One O’Clock Lab Band featuring Melissa Aldana, the Carroll Jazz Orchestra, Kristiana Roemer, Edgardo Benedetti, Hardy Llorca, Alameda Memoria, Sexto Piso, La Chile Big Band and Ipshita Roy.

Simona Pop

Born:

Simona 'Simi' Pop (producer, composer) A classically trained pianist turned self-taught saxophonist, Simi co-founded the Jazz Band in Baia Mare, Romania, receiving recognition from the Pro Muzica Foundation. She then played saxophone on national TV and at the Bucharest-based Dakino Film Festival. Later, in New York City, she played with Cabana Rock and currently forms the jazz duo SiMiDaNi. Simona holds a BA in Opera Directing and earned her master's at Hunter College, CUNY. She directed contemporary operas in Romania, commissioned by The Ernst von Siemens Foundation, Bucharest National University of Music, and Bucharest Goethe Institute

Mimmo Cafiero

Mimmo Cafiero ha influenzato il jazz in Sicilia per quasi mezzo secolo.
Nato a Palermo, ha studiato pianoforte e ha cantato nel coro del
Conservatorio Vincenzo Bellini dall'età di 11 anni.
Imparando a suonare le percussioni tre anni dopo, ha iniziato a frequentare diverse jam session, spesso frequentate da musicisti di jazz stranieri tra cui Ian Carr e Oliver Lake. Membro del gruppo del vibrafonista Enzo Randisi dal 1978 al 1981, ha registrato con lui due album e ha fatto un tour in Spagna. Entrando nel 1983 a far parte della Brass Group Big Band, un’orchestra di 20 elementi, ha avuto l'opportunità di lavorare con direttori ospiti come Mel Lewis, Sam Rivers, Toshiko Akiyoshi e Archie Shepp. Ha fatto parte anche della Big Band diretta da Bruno Biriaco nel 1984 che si è esibita su RAI UNO per diversi mesi in occasione della trasmissione “Domenica in". Ha registrato per la Rai Fonit Cetra nel 1987 un disco contenente proprie composizioni. Nel 1988, dopo aver fatto parte per due anni della band del pianista Romano Mussolini in oltre 400 concerti effettuati in tutta Italia, Cafiero si trasferisce a Roma dove insegnerà percussioni presso la scuola di musica “Lab 2”. Durante i tre anni in cui è rimasto a Roma, ha registrato due album da solista, “I Go", poco dopo il suo arrivo, con Paolo Fresu ospite nella sua band, e "Moon and Twenty Five", con ospite del suo quintetto il chitarrista Kurt Rosenwinkel, nel 1990. Ritornato a Palermo nel 1991, Cafiero ha fondato la Open Jazz School, una scuola che ha annoverato tra i suoi allievi alcuni dei migliori jazzisti siciliani di oggi.
Cafiero ha costantemente lavorato per migliorare lo stato del jazz in Sicilia. Ha svolto il ruolo di Presidente del comitato regionale dell'Associazione Nazionale Musicisti Jazz, nel 1991, contribuendo a coordinare la pubblicazione del primo audio-catalogo del jazz siciliano con la produzione di tre CD, “Sicilian Jazz Collection vol. 1, 2 e 3”.
Nel 1995 ha registrato l’album “Live in Brussels” con il suo trio, nel 1996 ha girato l'Italia con il quartetto di Joey Calderazzo e ha diretto la sua Open Jazz Orchestra in vari tour. Tra il 1999 e il 2005 ha preso parte negli Stati Uniti a numerosi concerti insieme alla Duke University Jazz Orchestra con il tenor sassofonista Paul Jeffrey. Mimmo Cafiero ha collaborato spesso con Enrico Rava, Danilo Rea, Harvie S, Hal Crook e ha registrato una quarantina di dischi con alcuni dei più importanti musicisti della scena jazzistica internazionale esibendosi con loro in Europa e Nord America.
Ha anche collaborato con Mick Goodrick, Steve Grossman, Gianni Basso, Massimo Urbani, Tony Scott, Riccardo Zegna, Enrico Pieranunzi, Sheila Jordan, Bob Mintzer, Fabrizio Bosso, Lee Konitz e tanti altri.
