Colombian pianist, composer and educator, Santiago Bertel, plays and creates music that merges together the jazz language and the western classical tradition, with Latin American rhythms. From studying in the Conservatory of music at Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá, to graduating from Berklee College of Music, thanks to a grant from the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation, he has performed at major venues around the world such as Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofía, Berklee Performance Center, Field Concert Hall, Luis Ángel Arango Concert Hall, León de Grief Auditorium, among many others

Jonathan Ruiz

Active member of the Colombian jazz scene and professor at El Colectivo Music School, Jonathan Ruiz has participated in different kind of records including his project Azuljauz, modern band which reflects in his arrangements the liking for irregular metrics, the Pacific folklore, and the forefront sounds of New York through his compositions. His versatility has allowed him to participate in diverse formats from trios and ensembles to orchestras and big bands playing in addition to jazz styles such as Funk, salsa, folk music and rock. He has also stood out as a bassist accompanying various artists in different festivals, such as Dafnis Prieto and Miguel Zenón.

Daniel Reyes Llinás

Born:
Daniel Reyes Llinás, Born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1978, Daniel started his formal training with guitarist Carlos Castilla, then continued his studies under Jaime Arias Obregón and Carlos Rocca Lynn at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá. He has participated in workshops with Leo Brouwer, Nik Bartsch, Martin Medeski and Wood, Butch Morris, Bang on a Can, Robert Fripp, and David Torn. Additionally, he has taken private lessons with Fernando Otero, Mary Halvorsen, and Carlos Alomar. Currently, he is studying composition with Ion Marmarinos and Julien Malaussena. Daniel has performed at venues in Europe, North, and South America. Between 2008 and 2017, he led the NYC-based Parias Ensemble, collaborating with Mariel Roberts, Ravi Kittappa, Vasko Dukovski, and Marta Topferova. Between 2017 and 2019, Daniel was a resident composer at Teatro Escarlata in Medellín. His music has been featured in theater, films, and dance performances. Currently based in Portland, Oregon, he performs with the experimental music ensemble Ex.tra.di.tion. Daniel recently released guitar trio album "String Schemas," featuring Elliott Sharp and Harvey Valdes, and the solo guitar album "Códices," co-produced by Trey Gunn. Daniel is a recipient of grants from The Regional Arts Culture Council and The Foundation for Contemporary Arts.

As an online content creator, he blends wit and creativity in crafting his own videos and short projects, and his adeptness at facilitating and leading vocal improvisations distinguishes him as an extraordinary spontaneous creator, capable of guiding large groups and composing music extemporaneously.
Among his recent achievements is his production and vocal arrangement for Karol G’s smash hit “Mientras Me Curo del Cora,” where he meticulously recorded and performed 32 vocal tracks to create a rich, fully vocal accompaniment. This work earned him a nomination for Record of the Year at the 2023 Latin Grammys. The track features on “Mañana Será Bonito,” an acclaimed album that won a Latin Grammy for Album of the Year and a Grammy for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album.

Juan Dhas

uan Dhas is constantly seeking to push his limits and abilities as a guitarist, a composer, and an improviser. Born in Dubai, UAE, to a Colombian mother and Indian father, Juan encountered duality and global influence from a young age. After studying classical piano, Juan began playing Guitar at the age of 12 and went on to attend Berklee College of Music, where he studied with musicians such as Tim Miller, Dave Fiuczynski, and Scott DeOgburn, among many others.
Before graduating in 2014, Juan released his debut album, Embracing Clarity. The album introduced new listeners to his thoughtful, deliberate, and intense approach to guitar playing in tandem with his lyrical and intricate compositional style. Embracing Clarity was described as “very impressive in that Dhas exhibits a distinct musical personality at such an early stage of development” (All About Jazz). The album saw critical acclaim, with numerous reviews and international radio airplay in the US and various countries in Europe and Latin America
