LILLABOX – Album “Faidherbe Street” Word music feat. Tara Baswani from Le Cirque du Soleil Cd Digital & Physical Plaza Mayor Company ltd The Orchard Ref; SERG150 Canada Tour June - August 2016 Concert 15 september 2016 at Divan du Monde 75018 Paris Lillabox is a guitar/cello instrumental duo founded in 2013 by Alex Hetzel and Mathieu Deranlot. Composed by a cellist from the Paris Conservatory and a self-taught guitarist, the duo performed all over France these last years and knew how to get the attention of radio shows (Matinale Culturelle/France Music, Jazz Box/Aligre FM, …). Dynamic bows and inspired riffs allow them to explore and merge different influences, for a brand new style: "contemporary world music", in the borders of jazz, rock, and arab-andalusian music Complementary in many ways, both musicians knew how to transform their differences into strength, offering us a rich repertoire, in which each brings his specificities and his plural influences

Jo Alisch

Born:
Johannes 'Jo' Alisch was born into a family of actors and musicians in 1984 and started learning the Cello at the young age of six. Surrounded by everything music, theatre and performance life since early childhood years he has ever since been cultivating his talents as a cellist, double bassist and performer and weaves them into a wide range of musical projects today, both as a leader and sideman. Rooted and educated in western classical music, he has promoted manifold artistic interests beyond the borders of musical genres and forms - especially across music-cultures. Overcoming the hurdling of formal orthodox music education, a day in his musical life could start with a string quartet rehearsal, go on with a lesson in Indian raga music and may peter out on double bass in the swinging rhythm section of one of the regional jazz clubs. Apart from his musical education from Masters Johannes holds a double MA in Humanities from Heidelberg University, first and foremost in anthropology, musicology and education.
