John Kolivas
Born:
John Kolivas, a native of Hawaii, was born into a musical family where his mother was a classical piano teacher and his father, a jazz saxophonist. Being exposed at a young age to jazz, classical and Hawaiian music, it's not surprising that John is still playing these styles of music today as the leader of the Honolulu Jazz Quartet, a member of the bass section for the Honolulu Symphony, and touring and recording with slack-key guitar legend Keola Beamer. John moved to New York City in 1982 at the age of 21 and was quickly hired for a five month tour of the Broadway show Pirates of Penzance. After the tour, John became the original bassist for The Tap Dance Kid on Broadway

Philip Marino
Born:
Have played/toured/lived throughout the USA-and overseas. Main focus is Jazz-mostly hard bop straight stuff. I play acoustic bass and electric bass. I like the acoustic for the straight ahead stuff can not beat that sound-it is the sound this music was created with. I am extremly versatile-having grown up on a mix of classical, rock & roll and popular music as well as jazz. I have played a good amount of r&b and rock so I am comfortable with the electric bass and can get that sound too. I love music- the best force I have ever encountered.

Jon Gagan
Born:
Ottmar Liebert discovered Gagan playing in a Santa Fe club in 1988. Liebert was preparing to begin work on his now famous "Nouveau Flamenco" album and felt that Jon's fretless sound would fit his musical vision. Gagan entered the studio with Ottmar soon after, and classic bass tracks such as those on "Heart Still/Beating", "Passing Storm" and "Surrender 2 Love" were recorded. The runaway success of the album led to extensive touring and numerous subsequent recordings. "Nouveau Flamenco" has gone on to be the largest selling guitar album of all time. In 2004, Gagan released his solo debut,' Transit" on SSRI
