Bob is a musician’s musician, well known and highly respected by his peers. Bob has toured and recorded with Dizzy Gillespie, Max Roach, Freddie Hubbard, Art Blakely, Junior Mance, Ken McIntyre, and Frank Townsend, an A list that continues into infinity. With the Yusef Lateef Quartet Bob and his Bass have toured North and South America, Africa, The Caribbean and extensively throughout Europe. Bassist Earl May, began his career in 1949 in New York City, and honed his craft in places like Minton's Playhouse with musicians such as Lester Young and Mercer Ellington. He was also a protegé of the legendary bass player Charles Mingus. Come hear the tales of Earl May's life story and career in music on August 23rd at the offices of the National Jazz Museum in Harlem. In 1951 Earl joined the Billy Taylor Trio, appearing regularly in such clubs as the Hickory House, Birdland and the Downbeat Club. During this period Earl also worked with Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, and recorded the classic "Lush Life" with John Coltrane

Bassist Lars Danielsson is reknown and admired in the International Jazz world for his lyrical but groovy playing. Not least his capability to improve the appearance of the melody has brought him around the world in a number of various musical constellations. Lars Danielsson was born in 1958 and was educated from the Music Conservatory in Gothenburg. Both on double bass, electric bass and cello - (his originally main instrument from the days at the conservatory) - he is an extraordinary soloist and accompanist, who gives the music edge and colourful temperament. Lars Danielsson Quartet with former Miles Davis saxophonist David Liebman, pianist Bobo Stenson and legendary ECM drummer Jon Christensen has been receiving loads of recognition and awards during the 20 years in which the Quartet has existed

Coleridge Goode

Coleridge George Emerson Goode is a former British Jamaican-born jazz bassist most noteworthy for his long collaboration with alto saxophonist Joe Harriott. Goode was a key figure in Harriott's innovatory jazz quintet throughout its eight-year existence as a regular unit (1958–65). Goode was also an important contributor to Harriott's later pioneer fusions of jazz and Indian music. Goode was born in Kingston, Jamaica. His father was a choirmaster and organist who promoted classical choral music in Jamaica and his mother sang in the choir. Jeff Clyne

Jeff Clyne was a virtuoso bass player. Starting with a short spell as a military bandsman in 1955 he then played in London with Tony Crombie's Rockets and with Stan Tracey. In 1958, he joined the Jazz Couriers, a group co-led by Tubby Hayes and Ronnie Scott and Britain's answer to Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. He continued to work with Hayes' various groups for about ten years. Clyne was the bass player on the Tubby Hayes big band album, 100% Proof. In the early 60's, Clyne also worked with such avant-garde groups as the Spontaneous Music Ensemble and Amalgam, led by John Stevens and Trevor Watts

Bernard Cash (Bernie) was born in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England on 18 January 1935, the son of Michael Cash and Eileen Cash (nee Mundy). His father's family had escaped persecution of the Russian jews at the turn of the 20th century, and he found himself in Yorkshire after leaving London as a ten year old. Eileen's family were Irish Roman Catholics, making Bernie a religious hybrid, although he never followed any creed. Music became his religion. Bernie began his musical career as a trumpet player, gaining a reputation playing with different bands around the UK. At the age of 25, he decided to take up the double bass, and under the tutelage of Peter Ind, became a fine exponent of the instrument
