While Walter Areia goes up and down the hills and stages of Lisbon carrying his distinctive 3-string bass, in addition to continuing his solo career playing with his new quartet and trio, Areia also actively collaborates with important artists, including Fred Martins, Matteo Saggesi, Larry John McNally, and Karlos Rotsen, and he is also a regular member of Rua das Pretas by Pierre Aderne.

Bassist Victor Dvoskin was born in Ukraine town of Dnepropetrovsk on June 21 1948. In his childhood he played knob accordion , guitar and later upright bass. At 18 he was heard at the jam session by his countryman percussionist Yuori Genbachov . Soon he was offered to go on the road with the group of musicians who where dedicated to jazz music. . In 1969 Victor settled in Moscow , where later he got bachelor degree in Gnesin college of Music in classical bass ( class of virtuoso bassist Alexandr Michno). In the early seventies he gained popularity playing for nine years with the group ‘ Allegro’

Joe Porter
Joe Porter hails from the city of St. Petersburg, Florida, where he learned to play bass guitar and double bass while studying music at St. Petersburg Junior College. In 2000 he graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor's degree in jazz performance. Soon after graduating, Joe was asked to join the Maynard Ferguson Big Bop Nouveau band on a world tour from 2001-2003. During his tenure he also had the chance to perform with singer Diane Schuur. Joe left the band in 2003 to pursue a freelance career as a jazz bassist which he continues from his home base in St. Petersburg, Florida

Jeff Weiss, recent graduate of UW-Madison's School of Music, is already a master bassist with dazzling artistic prowess. Awarded the 2012 Madison Area Music Award for best bassist of the year, Jeff brings to the gypsy jazz group Harmonious Wail a mesmerizing technical facility on the fretboard, a sophisticated and versatile style, and a powerful ability to create musical ambiance and rapport. Jeff studied under Richard Davis for five years and was principle bassist for UW-Madison's Symphony Orchestra. Jeff's music reflects a broad application of classical and jazz influences.
