Born August 2, 1974 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Richard Hallebeek started playing guitar at age 10 and took lessons from local teachers. He formed some local bands and started performing in various jazz and rock groups already at age 12. Completely emerging himself in music as a total guitar-nerd, influences early on were The Beatles, Pat Martino, Allan Holdsworth, Weather Report, Charlie Parker, Eddie Van Halen, Pat Metheny, the radio and every album he could get his hands on at the local library. Already at the age of 17 he was the youngest guitar player ever to be submitted to the Hilversum Conservatory, a conservatory best known for it’s strong jazz history drawing musician’s from all over Europe

This project comes with a story. (I read somewhere stories are very 2020.) It’s a story about why someone would pick the slide trombone. It’s a cool instrument, has a great sound, and it looks good on TV with the slide moving back and forth. But it also comes with built-in limitations, compared to, say, trumpet. ...

Born in the Galil region, Northern Israel, Ziv Taubenfeld started playing the clarinet as part of his primary school orchestra and continued with classical studies guided by Ilya Schwartz at the local conservatory of Karmiel. During that period, following the attraction to low sounds, the bass clarinet was added as a second instrument that soon became Ziv's main focus. His interest in improvised music (fooling around with the orchestras charts or diggin into jazz records) grew bigger after meeting the influential saxophone player Albert Beger who opened up a road that eventually led to further studies of the bass clarinet with Michael Moore in the Netherlands. Moving to Amsterdam has encouraged Ziv to inspiring collaborations with a wide variety of artists from the city's improvised music scene and it's satelite musicians

Ineke Vandoorn & Marc van Vugt With fairy-like sounds, funky arrangements, modern music full of harrowing and twisting harmonies and sadly comforting songs, singer/pianist Ineke Vandoorn and her partner in music composer/guitarist Marc van Vugt explore boundaries in an admirable and fascinating way: between improvisation and composition, in original songs with regular lyrics and in pure improvisations, by giving their characteristic interpretation of standards or by amalgation of different musical expressions. In the intimacy of a duo, trio or quartet, and with surprising and original crossovers with a chamber choir or a full orchestra, Like the Dutch Metropole Orchestra or the Dutch Chamber choir
Amsterdam-based guitarist/composer Jeroen Kimman could be considered something of an anthropologist within the Dutch creative music scene. He's not strictly a composer, not strictly a hired gun "impossible guitar parts" player for modern ensembles, not strictly a gifted colorist for chamber jazz ensembles, not strictly a country music geek or ex math-rocker: his thing is more about collecting different approaches, learning from and slightly warping every musical angle that presents itself. Like most professional chameleons, his cv is necessarily diverse. But whether playing jazz-related or improvised music, performing composed music with small ensembles or large orchestras, playing and/or composing for film, animation, theater, music theater, and contemporary dance productions, or even playing mariachi in funny pants for a wedding gig: there's a joy and a challenge in all of it, looking for the sweet spot. He has performed and/or recorded with Sleep Gunner, Brown vs Brown, Roomtone, Rosa Ensemble, Omelette, Ensemble MAE, Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Asko|Schönberg, Doelen Ensemble, Buisonic, Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, So Horse, Theater Utrecht, Vinex Productions, Qubit Philharmonic, Opera Spanga, David Kweksilber Big Band, Polyband, WijkSafari, Pumporgan, ZT Hollandia and many others. Apart from these what you might call "social endeavors", he records and produces his own music under the monniker Orquesta del Tiempo Perdido (previously Roomtone or Megasubtiel). And for what it's worth, he has studied jazz guitar at the Arnhem conservatory, and plays a little pedal steel and banjo as well.
