Alan Broome

Alan Broome is the wild, expressive, fiery red-headed, gravel-voiced bassist of the Dukes of Dixieland. Raised in Kenner, LA, Alan started playing electric bass at age 11. He picked up tuba in high school at age 14 and picked up double bass at age 16. He attended Loyola University of New Orleans in 1998 majoring in Music Education. While going to school, Alan learned to play to traditional jazz in the Joe Simon Jazz Band. He played in that group for 4 years, and then moved to Las Vegas to teach middle school and high school orchestra. While in Las Vegas, Alan learned to play Italian traditional music at the Venetian Casino
