Blood, Sweat, Drum + Bass
Blood Sweat Drum + Bass consits of 27 musicians – three drums, two bass players, two synthesizers, one guitarist, one working laptop and electronics, 16 horns and two singers. The orchestra has been working with a wide variety of music including heavy metal, electronica, rock, pop, drum’n’bass, world music and – of couse – jazz. Their latest album “On the Road to Damascus” was released in 2012. This time the music was inspired by the composer’s travels in the Middle East and the notes for the orchestra were written in the Arabic quarter tone scales. Jonas Kappel is a Danish guitarist and composer born in 1982 and now based in Aarhus. He released his first album “Aurora” in 2009, which received much critical acclaim. Since then he has released several albums and EPs with different groups. Jonas Kappel plays his own brand of jazz-rock on his latest release QUARTET, which features Jonas Kappel on guitar, Jonas Andreasen on saxophone, Jens Mikkel Madsen on double bass and Daniel Sommer on drums.

The Copenhagen based trumpeter Jakob Sørensen released the renowned debut album Bagland in 2015 and the follow up NOMAD back in 2016 with his own quintet playing his own compositions which really sat course for his future sound and career. In 2019 the third album Cirkel was released. Jakob’s work as a composer has been performed from duos to Big Band’s. Jakob has been touring all over Europe and with his own group in Sweden, Germany and Denmark. His style of playing has been compared to the playing of the ECM artist Nils Petter Molvær.
