Linda May Han Oh: Sun Pictures
Compositrice che privilegia le sottigliezze e che permette ai suoi compagni di avventura di plasmare la materia con ampia libertà, la Oh costruisce anche con Sun Pictures un progetto coerente e pienamente inserito nelle linee del jazz contemporaneo più evoluto.
Non mi convince molto quello che ne viene fuori: principalmente dal punto di vista timbrico, con la chitarra e il sassofono che fraseggiano in modo nervoso e alla lunga un po' uniforme [viene in mente il Chris Potter meno fantasioso, per darvi un'idea]. Peccato, perché Poor è sempre stimolante e anche la Oh si conferma contrabbassista accuratissima nella scelta delle note. Manca però un guizzo che renda il disco qualcosa di più che un buon disco.
