Il titolo del CD rispecchia l'essenza musicale dei due musicisti, qui riuniti dopo la comune militanza nel quintetto di Hersch. Infinite sono le possibilità espressive messe in campo per intrecciare un dialogo lirico e notturno, che tende prevalentemente all'astrazione puntillistica. Prevale il gusto del frammento, per ricondurre all'essenziale il percorso sonoro con un linguaggio che tende a racchiudere nell'alveo di poche note la magia della musica. Fa eccezione l'articolato sviluppo di "Someone Digging in the Ground," con ampie armonizzazioni e gustosi contrappunti.

Le quattordici tracce sono illuminate da una fantasia esecutiva volta a regalare bozzetti di rara poesia. Esse possiedono una poderosa tensione interna predisposta a risolversi in assoli di non comune intensità. Alla riuscita del CD concorre quella rara alchimia che solo di rado si intravede oggi nelle sedute d'incisione e che sa abbinare sapienza strumentale, cuore ed anima imprimendo un piglio obliquo al climax interpretativo.

Ed in più il piacere di regalare pathos e imprevedibilità esecutiva con una fantasiosa creazione estemporanea. All'ascoltatore non resta che assaporare tutto il fascino di un progetto estremamente ammaliante, che allarga il novero delle gemme regalateci dalla CamJazz.
