Simon Toldam Trio: Omhu
Un'eleganza persino un po' estenuata, ma con un suo pathos e una sua cifra stilistica, caratterizza questo nuovo lavoro (dovrebbe essere il quarto) del trio capitanato dal giovane pianista danese Simon Toldam. Nove i brani, tutti del leader tranne il secondo e il quarto, firmati "democraticamente" dal trio al completo, e tutti più o meno indistintamente contrassegnati da un tono lieve, pacato, sospeso e volatile, a tratti scuro, eccezion fatta per il crescendo che attraversa "Illumination" (uno dei due episodi a tripla firma) e "Se, der kommer en dag," forse non a caso fra i momenti più apprezzabili dell'album.

Degni di nota, in un tutto che qua e là può farsi anche lievemente tedioso, fin troppo dimesso, anche "Sol," prevalentemente pianistico e con un suo pathos abbastanza preciso, e il conclusivo "Musik for Orgel," felicemente aereo, astratto. Il tutto per un ascolto non certo consolatorio o supino, anzi bisognoso di un'attenzione e una dedizione abbastanza precipue. Almeno a volerne cogliere i sapori più riposti e sostanziali.
