Trombonist and Composer Andy Clausen established his sextet in 2007 with fellow members of Seattle's award winning Roosevelt High School Jazz Band to serve as a testing ground for their original compositions. The six members of the Andy Clausen Sextet and guest vocalist Emma Staake represent many of the standouts to emerge from the Roosevelt Jazz Program in recent years.

Their debut album, “Follow" represents a snapshot of the band after a two and a half year journey together, during which the band has moved to refine their sound through intensive work-shopping of new compositions, and frequent performances.

Five songs on the album were written by Roosevelt senior Andy Clausen, The Earshot Jazz Society's 2009 Emerging Artist of The Year, and recipient of the 2009 Gerald Wilson award for jazz composition from The Monterey Jazz Festival. Two pieces were authored by pianist Gus Carns, a freshman at The New England Conservatory in Boston.
