There are many tech accelerators offering help to startups, but none focus on music. Project Music Accelerator at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center is the exception; and the deadline for its next class is near.

Nashville's Project Accelerator is entering year two and accepting a new round of applications. Music tech startups in social media, big data, content monetization, hardware, distribution, engagement and others from around the globe are invited to apply with a deadline of November 6th.  So far, interest has been strong.   “We’re excited to see the diverse applications being submitted for consideration," director of Project Music, Heather McBee to Hypebot. “Our definition of ‘music tech’ was intentionally generic so we don’t stifle innovation with pre-established boundaries so we’re seeing everything from content and fan engagement to booking software to management aids and even hardware plays. We’re also getting to see applications from across the US and Canada so its great to see that word has been getting out about the uniqueness of the program and the opportunity it represents."   The 2015 Accelerator program launched eight new music-tech startups covering everything from audio quality to distribution that have collectively raised over $2 Million in funding.  The inaugural class included 20-something Channing Moreland of artist booking platform EVAmore and Marcus Cobb of musician-connecting site Jammber, who has been starting creative businesses for sixteen years.

Six to eight applicants will be selected this year to participate in a three month high intensity bootcamp at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center. Each startup will be awarded a minimum of $30,000 investment.

Details and sign up information are live on the program’s website projectmusic.co.
