Bill Dixon
Trumpeter-composer Bill Dixon (b. October 5, 1925) might, over the past year or so, be getting much-deserved notoriety in the music press for his orchestral suites (Seventeen Musicians in Search of a Sound; Tapestries for Small Orchestra) and collaboration with Rob Mazurek and the Exploding Star Orchestra. However, his visual art--while adorning the covers of numerous albums in his discography--still is often not seen in its own light. AAJ is pleased to offer several of Dixon's paintings, lithographs and drawings, part of its new and improved Photo Gallery.

Check out the Bill Dixon Gallery at AAJ today, and stay tuned for additional news and works from Bill Dixon.
