Cue sheets, which act as a kind of invoice, are the most reliable source for keeping track of musical content in a particular film or television program, and determine royalty payments to composers, lyricists and publishers.
America is the leading source of film and television production and ASCAP is the first American performing rights organization to offer this type of cue sheet benefit," ASCAP CEO John LoFrumento said in a statement. It is another example of how we are leveraging technology to provide the best possible service to our members."
The performing rights org processes hundreds of thousands of cue sheets every year, and is working to further streamline and enhance the identification of musical content in audio-visual programming."
The initiative will allow for search options by series, episodes, non- series, specific works, co-written works or a combination thereof.
Users can sort options by non-series, series or episodes in a series as well as navigate between cue sheet details and their catalog info.
Since Member Access was launched in October, more than 50,000 ASCAP members have signed on.
