Carlo Chapelle

     Acclaimed vocalist Carlo Chapelle has been delighting audiences across the globe with what WINDY CITY TIMES calls his "warm tone" and "high register." CABARET SCENES exclaims that Carlo has "dazzled" and "engaged audiences" with "his subtle falsetto" from Tokyo's ON THE MARKS to Manila's Jazz lounge at the CONRAD, New York's DON'T TELL MAMA'S, and various music venues in Chicago, including DAVENPORT'S, UNCOMMON GROUND, BORELLI'S, UNDERGROUND WONDER BAR, KATERINA'S, and GENTRY.

     Carlo's 2009 debut recording, SHADE OF BLUE, earned him international radio play and several hundred thousand streams, capturing critical acclaim. The track "PLEASE DON'T ASK ME" reached #37 on AUSTRALIA'S iTunes Radio Jazz Charts. CHICAGO'S WZRD 88.3 FM host Meagan Panici called the recording "beautiful... nothing like it." Jazz contemporary recording artist KEVYN LETTAU praised him, saying, "This man has the voice of an angel." Another track, "ON A BUS TO ST. CLOUD," became a top trending song on REVERBNATION, gaining over 20,000 streams in one week. The album is available on iTunes, Amazon Music, and all streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, and Shazam.

     His musical journey began in Manila, Philippines, where Carlo started singing at the age of 4. During his teens, he sang with the renowned church choir "People, Precious And Few Choir," honing his musicianship through performances and workshops. Carlo and his family emigrated to the United States in 1991, settling in Chicago.  He attended Columbia College in Chicago, majoring in vocal performance, and joined the highly selective Vocal Jazz Ensemble, coached by prominent jazz vocalist Bobbi Wilsyn. After college, Carlo sought out singing opportunities at venues like GENTRY ON RUSH STREET, GENTRY ON STATE, and THE COTTON CLUB, which led to him catching the attention of Ralph Lampkin Jr. of LMG Music, who produced Carlo's debut album.

     In 2006, Carlo had the honor of opening for the iconic Philippine diva Regine Velasquez during her USA tour stop in Chicago at the Gateway Theatre. Since then, he has built a loyal following through numerous one-man shows across Chicago. A notable moment in his career was performing at UNCOMMON GROUND alongside his childhood idol, Manila's Original Queen of Soul Tillie Moreno. In 2014, Carlo made his New York debut at the famous cabaret club DON'T TELL MAMA'S, and in 2019, he performed in Kawasaki, Japan, at ON THE MARKS Hotel with jazz guitarist Eugene Shimoda, followed by a guest stint at Manila's Jazz lounge at the Conrad Hotel.

     In 2023, Carlo performed an original classical vocalese composition by renowned pianist, singer, and composer Ester Hana at the Sherwood Recital Hall of Columbia College. Currently, Carlo is performing throughout Chicagoland with his band, "The Carlo Chapelle Jazz Fusion Quartet," while working on a new album as a follow-up to "Shade of Blue."
