Earprint: Easy Listening

Read "Easy Listening" reviewed by Jerome Wilson

Earprint's second album follows the template laid down by its first: relatively short tracks that concentrate a bevy of ideas into energetic four to six minute bursts. Trumpeter Tree Palmedo and saxophonist Kevin Sun bounce off each other's lines with precision and style while bassist Simon Willson and drummer Dor Herskovits provide a sizzling underbed of ...

Susie Smooth Duo Patman

I am the singer in Smooth Duo. I have a deep & rich contralto voice. Smooth and relaxing style. I like to sing softly and emotively. I am passionate about bringing out the feeling the lyrics evoke. My Duo partner Andy plays bongos, congas, blues harmonica plus some sax and keyboards. We specialise in cool background music with a hint of relaxing jazz and blues. We play a selection of music from the Great American Songbook and the cocktail jazz club era plus some 80's classics in the cocktail lounge jazz style, designed to appeal to a wide variety of tastes. We are based in Nottinghamshire, close to the borders of Derbyshire and South Yorkshire. SMOOTH DUO have opened for many 'name' acts, including The Osmond Brothers, Ken Dodd, Russell Watson, Billy Ocean, Lulu, the National Symphony Orchestra, The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and Lance Ellington. We played live at the Granada TV studios for the cast and crew of Coronation Street after the iconic live 50th Anniversary episode and have performed many times for the cast and crew of ITV's Emmerdale.

Radar: Easy Listening

Read "Easy Listening" reviewed by Mark Corroto

The tempo you might expect from new music made in Japan is certainly not what you get from the trio known as Radar. In fact, their fresh approach to music making transcends geography and genre. The trio of horn (mostly soprano saxophone), bass, and piano plays hesitating tunes, paced by experimentation and plenty of ...

Curd Duca: Easy Listening

Read "Easy Listening" reviewed by AAJ Staff

The idea is simple. You start with samples of old music, and records playing in locked grooves. On top of this Curd Duca adds simple keyboards and floating sounds, giving the old record a new stmosphere. The title is apt: these short pieces are meant for the background, and don’t require intense analysis. But I didn’t ...

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
