Michael Moody is a New York-based jazz vocalist whose voice is both a vessel of tradition and a force of modern expression. Moody has graced the stages of premier jazz venues including “Dizzy’s Club” Mezzrows” and “Smalls”captivating audiences with performances marked by emotional depth and technical brilliance. 

“Influenced by Carmen McRae, Billie Holiday, Sonny Stitt, and Dexter Gordon, Moody has cultivated a distinct voice of his own, Infusing jazz standards with intricate melodic variations and a signature interpretive style.

Moody has shared the stage with acclaimed artists such as Sheila Jordan, Sullivan Fortner, John Patitucci, and Randy Brecker, further solidifying his place within the lineage of modern jazz vocalists who honor the past while forging new paths forward.

Moody is set to release his third album “The Ecstasy of Love” his interpretations of ballads like “Don’t Explain” and “You’ve Changed” showcase his vocal dexterity and depth, while swinging tunes such as “Embraceable You” and “I’m Gonna Lock My Heart” highlight his melodic phrasing and command of rhythm. The project closes with “The Old Rugged Cross,” a stirring expression of love’s redemptive power. The Ecstasy of Love is a sophisticated, heartfelt tribute to the American Songbook, delivered with modern sensitivity and timeless vocal skill.
