Greg Lamy: Observe The Silence

Read "Observe The Silence" reviewed by Mario Calvitti

Michel Portal: MP85

Read "MP85" reviewed by Giuseppe Segala

Bojan Z at Hugh Lane Gallery, Dublin

Read "Bojan Z at Hugh Lane Gallery, Dublin" reviewed by Ian Patterson

Bojan Z Hugh Lane Gallery Dublin, Ireland September 4, 2016 It's been ten years since All About Jazz last encountered Bojan Z in a live solo context, in Cambodia, where the France-based, Serbian pianist gave a riveting performance that drew heavily from Solobsession (Label Bleu, 2000). Although often playing in a solo context, it took Z another dozen years to record another solo album, the exquisite Soul Shelter (Emarcy, 2012). This concert, an Improvised ...

Bojan Z: Soul Shelter

Read "Soul Shelter" reviewed by Ian Patterson

In twenty years as leader, pianist/composer Bojan Z has been judicious with the frequency and quality of his releases. Soul Shelter is his ninth CD in that time, and his first solo outing since Solobsession (Label Bleu, 2001). A new release by the pianist is always an event, and the wait, as always, has been worth it. The music on Soul Shelter covers wide stylistic territory and marks another significant milestone in Z's captivating career to date. Ten ...

Bojan Z Le Meridien Angkor Siem Reap, Cambodia June 25, 2006From the opening “Algerique , with its joyous, dancing rhythms, to the encore, an exquisite, meditative version of Bowie's “Ashes to Ashes , Bojan Z demonstrated why he was the juror's choice for European Jazz Artist of the year 2005. Bojan Z: Stranger Sounds

Read "Bojan Z: Stranger Sounds" reviewed by Ian Patterson

Did a B-52 full of Fender Rhodes really crash near a small Serbian village a quarter of a century ago? What's a Steinway full of holes doing at a jazz festival? What is the connection between Jim Hall and the Dixie Chicks? And just who would pay $6,000 for a bottle of wine? European Jazz Artist of the Year 2005 and pianist extraordinaire Bojan Z has all the answers and in a candid interview talks about life and death (but ...

After 25 years of lively collaboration and friendship, pianist/keyboardist Bojan Z and saxophonist Julien Lourau are going to record their duo! The duo was created at the Pannonica Club in jny:Nantes, France, at the end of last century, in 1997 to be precise. Some of you still remember this perhaps. 17 years later, it seems relevant to us to fix these moments in a club as well – in this case at the Triton in Les Lilas, Paris – in ...
