About Me
Ever since I was a child, I have always been massively passionate about music.
Growing up, I have developed a keen enthusiasm for vinyl records and a fondness
for my trips to the local record store and various vinyl fairs.
During my academic years, I have always sought involvement in the music
industry: from working as a radio host, a booking agent, a marketing strategist at
a Dutch record label, and a music writer.
My eagerness for music writing motivated me to launch my music website
funknroll.online, through which I can express my appreciation for and interest in
music.
However, to me, music's role and meaning transcend my past job occupations and
expertise, as on an emotional level music has been a fundamental aspect in every
step and season of my life.
My Jazz Story
I love jazz because it encapsulates many wonderful aspects of music: emotions, precision, and discipline. I love jazz because it is one of the most prominent fundaments of music, which historical relevance is undeniable. I was first exposed to jazz by Prince, whose music has been massively influenced by jazz and blues. Listening to Prince sparked my curiosity about the genre, which led me to do more research on jazz music and its most prominent artists. The first jazz album I got was Miles Davis's Kind Of Blue.
