About the Album

Yvonne Rogers continues to shine as one of the most interesting and thoughtful new voices on piano with this solo recording. The pieces started as vignettes about her childhood in rural Maine which she posted on social media. Pyroclastic Records founder Kris Davis was so taken with what she heard that she convinced Rogers to develop the pieces into this thoughtful and moving solo piano record. The title of “LinearGel” an anagram of the name of one of Rogers’ piano influences: Geri Allen. It’s a fun and lively track that shows how Rogers’ virtuosity never gets in the way of her sincerity.
