In his decades as a prominent drummer/composer, Phil Haynes has constantly made new artistic associations with both important emerging talents and creative music’s established greats. On his new recording “Terra,” Haynes does both, as he is joined in this multi-generational trio setting by the acclaimed guitarist Ben Monder and the rising tenor saxophonist Peyton Pleninger for a live group improvisation recorded at Bucknell University.
