Gabriel Rosati & Manoel Cruz - “LEONARDINHO” – press release This latest album of Brazilian-Electro-Jazz is the result of a fruitful collaboration by Italian trumpeter/trombonist (Los Angeles based) with Brazilian bassist/producer Manoel Cruz and his own Trio. A collection of 8 original songs composed by Rosati inspired by the delightful first years life of his first child “Leonardinho” Santiago (Nov. 5th 2016). The tunes are fun, descriptive and for sure intense. Thanks to the support of a first class Brazilian rhythm section : Manoel Cruz bass, Ary Holland piano, Marcio Carriel guitar’s, Claudinho Oliveira drum, Malli percussions. The music and the improvisations in general sound very exciting and positive. A direct link to the sounds of Sergio Mendes instrumental production is perhaps perceptible. Very deep and passionate are “Running and Falling” and “Dias Felizes”.
