Registrato il 23 luglio del 2009 allo Sweet Rhythm di New York, questo DVD riassume l'attività concertistica del quintetto diretto dal vibrafonista Mark Sherman. Una band rodata da molti anni passati in tour che, in questa occasione, presenta una scaletta basata sulle composizioni di Sherman, tranne l'intensa "Hope" firmata dal pianista Allen Farnham, e di un unico, fascinoso, standard. Brano che risponde al titolo di "Trinkle Tinkle" di Monk, prima del quale vengono suonati tre pezzi dal sapore hardboppistico, come l'energica "Tip Top Rhythm," e "Trust," un passaggio maggiormente rilassante.
La band è ripresa sul piccolo palco da diverse angolazioni, e alcune inquadrature ravvicinate fanno vivere l'evento in maniera molto realistica. L'atmosfera intima - lo deduciamo dagli applausi diradati di un pubblico praticamente mai inquadrato - e lo schema espressivo del quintetto che segue il classico canovaccio "tema-soli-ripresa del tema" determinano una certa monotonia della visione, anche se è un autentico piacere lasciarsi cullare dagli interventi di uno Sherman fluido e melodicamente ispirato, come nella splendida "The Winning Life," al quale si accoda il trombettista Joe Magnarelli, dal sound più scuro e introverso.
In coda cinque brevi interviste ai musicisti, senza sottotitoli, nelle quali descrivono il loro ruolo all'interno della band e i motivi che tengono unita questa realtà chiudono le oltre due ore di filmato.
