Jonathan Karrant: Live
Jonathan Karrant is a soulful vocalist with a broad melodic reach, showcasing his might in this concert in Las Vegas at the globally-renowned Smith Center. The album combines standards and lesser-known fare, each given a smooth, appealing rendition.

Karrant is certainly a dynamic performer as this show vividly showcases. This beautiful concert document is a sublime example of Karrant's tuneful vocal delivery and amazing range. His voice is sultry, yet dynamic and confident, achieving a rich tone and a unique twist.

This concert unfolds over the span of 15 recordings, including Karrant's inspired versions of classics like "Feeling Good," as well as "Love for Sale," "No Moon at All," and 'Where Do You Start," among others. Karrant can reach astonishing highs with his voice, but he can also switch to a beautiful lower register, reminiscent of legends like Frank Sinatra, among others. It's amazing how he can seamlessly follow the band's changes and dynamics, driving the intensity of the performances, without ever overpowering the music, or being overpowered by it. It takes a really great jazz singer to accomplish all that, and Karrant definitely deserves that title! He also puts a lot of presence into his performances, making for an impressive sense of showmanship on a stage.
