FM Trio: Ligne Libre

Attivo dal 2003 e rodato da numerosi concerti in giro per l'Europa, l'FM Trio giunge alla sua seconda uscita con le carte in regola per licenziare un lavoro importante e di qualità. E Ligne Libre lo conferma. Innanzitutto perché una volta tanto un piano trio presenta solo composizioni originali senza ricorrere a hit della musica pop o rock in un operazione tanto di moda negli ultimi tempi ma non sempre sorretta da vera urgenza espressiva.

Poi perché evita di percorrere la strada di tanti trii post-evansiani (o post-qualcosa) ma mette in mostra una freschezza interpretativa ed una ricchezza di idee pienamente figli della contemporaneità. Benché la componente predominante dell'incisione sia comunque quella melodica il disco risultato tutt'altro che appiattito, monocorde o lezioso.

Grazie al gran lavoro di scomposizione ritmica operato dal batterista Fabian Burgi, ai continui cambi propulsivi del bassista Kaspar Von Grunigen e alla grande facilità con la quale il pianista Fabian Mueller scivola da un approccio europeo ad un fraseggio percussivo tipicamente nero. E grazie anche a quattro brevi libere improvvisazioni, quattro schegge sonore che si insinuano nel clima generale della registrazione, portando un po' di sano scompiglio e allargando opportunamente gli orizzonti espressivi di Ligne Libre.
