'O vero free, come avrebbe detto Mario Schiano, dimora in questo breve CD del quartetto olandese, che possiede indiscutibilmente tutte le stimmate del caso (cocofonie, turgori, andamento frastagliato e nervoso, con in più un viraggio noir tipicamente europeo), ma anche una chiarezza di "dizione" - una leggibilità, in fondo; certo una logica e una lucidità - che non vengono mai meno.

Si passa da episodi brevissimi (anche sotto il minuto) a una cavalcata di oltre un quarto d'ora, ma in fondo la ripartizione in brani (che di fatto sono otto, a fronte dei sette titoli riportati) è abbastanza pretestuosa, perché il flusso ispirativo, di fatto, è unico, ininterrotto. Rari, ma non per questo assenti, sono i ripiegamenti su temperature più pacate, gli "spianamenti" su aree meno increspate e arcigne.

Se c'è quindi ancora spazio per un "genere" che qualcuno vorrebbe superato dagli eventi, anacronistico (magari sciroppandosi poi i mille boppers di riporto), questo lavoro, al di là di qualche ridondanza, lo occupa a pieno titolo.
