La Svizzera si conferma terra dal jazz multiforme. Robi Weber ed il suo quartetto sono esponenti dell´area mainstream e poco dopo la pubblicazione di questo disco hanno riscontrato grande successo presso la critica nazionale.

Si tratta di musicisti preparati tecnicamente, che qui - come si evince a partire dal titolo del disco - si sono dati al Soul Jazz, di cui presentano brani classici di - tra gli altri - Nat Adderley, Dizzy Gillespie, Horace Silver e Bobby Timmons, insieme a composizioni di Dollar Brand, Gary Burton, Keith Jarrett, Michel Petrucciani...

L´unico problema, ma di sicuro i musicisti non lo hanno avvertito come tale, è che gli arrangiamenti non sono originali, e così i brani risultano troppo vicini agli originali. Non c´è alcun dubbio che suonino gradevoli, ma è pur vero che di questi tempi ci si aspetta un po' di più.
