The music world lost NEA Jazz Master Chick Corea who, as Charles Lloyd Tweeted, "left town" on February 9, 2021. Chick was always generous with his time granting AAJ several interviews over the years. Jim Worsley's October interview with Chick would represent his last. A personal favorite of All About Jazz, we will miss Chick's music, his kind spirit and his positive energy. Barche Lamsel indeed!
All About Jazz published nearly 100 articles about Chick and you can view the entire archive here.
"Lyric Portrait uses words by Al Jarreau to Chick Corea's iconic jazz standard, "Spain." This drawing is made only of hand lettered lyrics in ink, honoring a man whose music changed my life forever." Forrest Young
All About Jazz has been a pillar of jazz since 1995, championing it as an art form and, more importantly, supporting the musicians who create it. Our enduring commitment has made "AAJ" one of the most culturally important websites of its kind, read by hundreds of thousands of fans, musicians and industry figures every month.
