Meet Luca Luciano:
Luca is a noted Italian clarinetist and composer who now makes his home in London, having developed an enviable reputation as an instrumental virtuoso around the UK and overseas via recordings and concert hall appearances (Masterful Clarinet, Musician Magazine).

Professor of both jazz and classical clarinet, he started his career at a very young age (only twelve) performing at one of the most prestigious concert-halls of his home town Naples, appeared on television nationwide live aged twenty-one and quickly established himself as one of the most interesting talents in the UK and Europe. He has accumulated experience in both the jazz and classical fields, got a Bachelor in Music at the Conservatoire of Salerno (Italy) and a post-graduate course on music entrepreneurship founded by the ECC. His repertoire encompass Weber, Brahms, Copland, Stravinsky and jazz music.

He is mainly active as soloist/composer, touring extensively the UK and abroad and his experience includes concerts/recitals, studio sessions, TV performances, master classes, three solo albums, orchestra and chamber music.

Instrument(s):
clarinet.

When were you happiest?
The first time I performed live. I was twelve and it was in an ancient concert hall in the centre of my home town Naples (Italy). I'll never forget how it felt.

What is your earliest memory?
I was four and I was in the South of Italy with my parents checking a holiday property to buy...it was very hot...!

What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Ignorance and incoherence.

What is your most treasured possession?
My father's ring. It was given to him by my grandfather and since my father passed away I have always worn it.

What would your superpower be?
To set the world free from evil and cure all sorts of deceases.

If you could go back in time, where would you go?
It would be great to go back to the beginning of the Be-bop era and meet Charlie Parker and company. That kind of life style, atmosphere, the smoky clubs with live music till late have always amazed me.

Where would you like to live?
I'd like to live in a quite, serene place preferably on the sea, far from the noise and chaos of the big metropolis. I've always fancied an early retirement an live in some small town by the sea in Brazil or in the South of Italy.

What makes you depressed?
Unfairness and people being mistreated.

What is your favorite book?
It's an Italian novel titled "Due di Due" that was given to me by my best pal. It is a story about two friends that spreads through two decades.

To whom would you most like to say sorry, and why?
To my father for not listening to him and underestimating his opinions and experience.

What single thing would improve the quality of your life?
Serenity.
